    Installed sway bars

Hey guys, I wanted to improve my Rusty's handling so I decided to install swaybars. I bought the kit for the Jato, drilled some holes into the RPM arms (which was pretty difficult) and there you go. I have a good pair of aluminum shocks, my Rustler is lowered, and now with the sway bars this should handle very nicely. I haven't figured out how I'm going to do the rear one yet, that will be a fun project for a rainy day. Or do you guys think with the sway bar up front that will be good enough?

(sorry for the bad picture quality, my camera is only 2.0 mega pixel)

Here are a couple updated ones

NitroRustlerDriver, no that isn't from RD, I forget the company's name but I got it on ebay.

Hopefully when it stops raining here in WA I'll be able to run it... So I'll let you guys know how she handles. I'm thinking the sway bars are going to make a pretty big difference. I know they sure do on my 4-tec

awesome looking truck. On the front shock tower, did you make new holes to move the shocks in? It also appears that you may have front shocks on the rear as well?

Yes, I did drill holes further in on the front shock tower to move the shocks in. No, the rear shocks are for rears.... I just used shock shafts from a different vehicle for them to get that lowered effect. Works out great!! My Rustler hasn't been on its roof in.... I can't even remember.

I like the way you lowered it. I was going to use the gtr jato shocks for mine, but if I can get the information of which shocks you used the shafts from, would be great.

Yes, it is from Holeshot eng

    Formulized94,
Those are the Traxxas aluminum shocks for the Rustler (not big bore). The stock size of the shaft is 51-54mm long, can't remember the exact size. The shaft I used from that other vehicle was probably around 40mm long.

I'm not sure... but its really light. Especially when I throw the foam tires on! I run a 27t cb/ 62t sg and that prevents me from wheeling on take offs.

So is there a noticable difference with the sway bars on? Does it control body roll better? Can U push it into the corners harder without spinnin out?

Yeah, almost handles like my 4tec. I can take corners no problem. Plus my truck is lowered, which also makes a huge difference in handling. I can go full speed, and turn on a dime, hit the brakes and spin out.... but it never flips. I can't remember the last time my Rusty was on its roof.

    Timjs,
I custom made that 27t cb using an old pinion gear and a traxxas 16t cb.

Lol.... so why does Traxxas put those "puney little wires" on other vehicles such as the 4tec, Jato, Revo..... Come to think of it, why does any high end onroad, truggy, or buggy vehicle come with sway bars? But according to you, they do nothing right?
