thats a good idea. You know the shorter the header the more top speed, the longer the header the more bottom end.n

It’s a brilliant idea . If the clear tube solid enough and heat resistible it would be all fine I guess.

The header will soak up most of the heat and the tube is a thick hot water line and the black elbow is copper i scuffed up painted black using high heat paint i think it will all be fine let you know as soon as temps get aboce 10 lo

if anybody wants to see the new integy bulk head with the turnbuckle stabilizer mod look in the video mod thread right below this one by toddebm

ahh...bad idea man...that tubing is made for running hot water through a house (with special fittings on the ends for making connections) instead of using copper pipe...and the exhaust temp these engines produce is way beyond that of the temp of the hot water that is meant to flow through that tubing...so again bad idea man...looks cool though pops for the mod, but i don't recommend it...when that tubing starts to heat up and melt it will produce some awful smelling fumes that are not safe to breath....

    edit:
you would be better off if you used a couple of smaller pieces of 1/2" copper pipe with a 45 degree elbow in between the straight pieces then connect that to the 90 degree elbow you used and paint it all to match...

I remember seeing a pic of a traxxas nitro boat and i beleive it had tubing in the exhaust similar to yur setup. can someone shed some light on this? i think his idea will work.

If that tubing doesn't hold up, Traxxas sells some silicone tubing for the Nitro Vee and Nitro Stampede exhaust that will work. Part numbers 3551 or 3551A for blue.

I think that mod looks great! I like the rear exit exhaust.

was just looking for that info myself...lol...and as cooleocool has already mentioned it is used on the Nitro Vee and Nitro Stampede...the silicone tubing will hold up to the heat of the exhaust...here are links for the silicone tubing...

Thanks for the input guys but i have already done this with other nitros and it was fine as long as you use it after the header like i stated before the header absorbes most the heat then it gets pushed so fast threw the tube into the pipe witch holds it until it passes out

Could be hard to keep your exhaust connected if you do alot of big jumping may pop off alot with that tubing. Everytime I land on the roof hard the exhaust on my maxx pops off >.< even with ties.

i beat ya to it. mines different, but keeps the tune and performance exactly the same. it is said to improve performance because the air flows out the stinger quicker and doesnt have toe be forced up to the stinger.
