I look forward to receiving my GA bulkheads and my wheel hubs !!![]()
Upgrades of the day!
I tried to solder the TRX Connectors but I burnt the soldering iron after one unsuccessful attempt...![]()
So finally I gave to my LHS my 6 batteries and my ESC : $77 to replace 8 Tamiya Connectors!!
Bad day...
But tomorrow I'm certainly going to receive the GA Bulks or the Traxxas Wheel Hubs![]()
![]()
Wow that is possibly the biggest ripoff ever? $88 for 10 minutes of work?Originally Posted by Popoxx

Man, that IS a rip off!! You could've bought a very nice soldering iron for $77.Originally Posted by Popoxx

But I'm not really talented in weld. And I don't want to damage my batteries and my ESC...
I'm going to re-negotiate the price !

Next step : removal of the blue anodize of these wheel hubs:

Those rims and tires are HOT. Your Maxx is going to look so sharp with them on.
how do you remove the anodize . i have a set on the way allso .
its not the car thats fast its what ya put in it
Looks like an awesome (expensive) project, why oh why not spend some $$ on a good adjustable temp solder gun?? Trust me you'll use it!! Get a good tin on it, keep it clean and it will treat you right!
I second that.Originally Posted by Basso

Those tires/rims look great, they will be sweet onroad and in grass.. but they will be pretty low performance in dirt and loose offroad areas. They are kind of like running the hpi geolanders for the 2.2 size on 1/10 trucks.

You want to re-anodize in red your wheel hubs ? I don't know if it's possibleOriginally Posted by buddy7798

I will see if these wheels are convenient for meOriginally Posted by stumblin

If it's not the case, which wheels & tires similar to the 3905 stock wheels & tires you advise me (with 17mm hex of course) ?
I had those Tired and they were terrible on the pavement. wouldnt hook up. was all over the place and it was bad. but they look hella nice when they pizza cut up. they look nice. just bad traction with my 4.5 novak system. I ended up putting some series 40 wheels and tires on so I could hook up better
Really nice PHOTOS! you must take up photography as a second hobby.

Next upgrade and pics tomorrow !!![]()

Cool. What kind of driving do you do. Just general off road, on road or do you like to do a lot of jumping?
I think I might need to upgrade to aluminium bulks since I've broken 3 stes in the same way![]()
Here is an example of my favourite playground : dust, rocks, trees, sand and altitude for big jumps -or crashesOriginally Posted by eemmaaxxxx

I'm both a basher and an express rock-crawlerI love jumping but in natural places.
I drive on-road very rarely ! Just to finish the batteries or make points of speed![]()
And yes : go aluminium bulks ! I bought FLM bulks and I have never broken or bent them![]()
I bought also GA bulks because they are stronger, more beautiful, more convenient, and the GA bulk' braces are longer !

Thanks for the advice. I am looking at FLM bulks at the moment. The front ones are out of stock, but since I only break rear, I may buy them anyway.
I really like driving in the woods and forest. There are some nice hills which are fun to drive up and down. Very rocky. I drive on grass a lot, and have a skate ramp for jumping. Natural places are more fun though.
Have you got a link for the GA bulks?

I received all the options that I ordered ! Lots of pics this evening![]()
Ladies & Gentlemen, I'm proud to present you the work of a whole life : a #3905 E-Maxx for the bashers, jumpers and express rock crawlers![]()
4 years of research and option tests : $4500(I'm crazy...).
All the parts were studied with accuracy. If I kept plastic parts it's normal (I said to you that everything was studied) I don't look for the speed, but the solidity and the reliability. I believe that I made a success

Next step in june-july : 2075 Servo, digital high-torque, waterproof ; Futaba 3PM 3-Channel 2.4GHz Transmitter/Receiver Only ; SPC Twin Maxx Pacs TMP-EG4620-7 ; and an Integy heatsink with cooling fans.
A video is coming soon !
Not bad, not bad at all![]()

READ THE FAQ!
or else.....
hey man what are those hubs?? 17mm and made by who? linky linky??
we can rebuild it, we can make it faster, stronger
Made by traxxas
check out post 31
those hubs are awesome trx#5353x, I bought 1 set to use with phaltlines and they worked perfect no slop at all, so I tried my Axial beadlocks and same no slop at all, the Ofna hubs had alot of slop with proline wheels.
I got them from buytraxxas.com shipped to me in 3 days, I have a 2nd set en-route as I type for another truck they were so good.
1 x Wheel hubs, splined, 17mm (blue-anodized) (4)/ wheel nuts, splined, 17mm (blue-anodized) (4)/ screw pins, 4x13mm (with threadlock) (4) (5353X) = $25.00
I didnt find them online instock anywhere else where they would be a bit cheaper http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...FVSEARCH=5353x
If you use 17mm on the maxx these are a must !
