Paint, body scissors, sand paper, reamer.

If you plan on doing more than one color, masking tape as well.

    Spray multiple thin, light coats.

make sure your body is clean and lay down the darker colors first

i recommend keeping it simple. buy graphics that go on the inside of the body when painting. if you do, make sure to use lightly soapy water before applying the graphic so you can make small adjustments when applying the graphic.

NEVER USE ELECTRICAL TAPE! use some other type of tape that doesnt flex or stretch cuz electrical tape(though is works perfect for racing stripes)will come up in spots and paint will seep thru.
WARNING:exposure to nitro can lead to drain bamage

instead of tape i prefer to use liquid masking film http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXC099&P=7

apply it with an airbrush. or you can also use a paint brush. then when it is fully dry you cut out your design and peel it away. if it is on too thin it wont peel, just break apart. just draw your design on the OUTSIDE of the model, there is protective film to keep you from drawing on the body.

with the masking film you're also able to see through it, so you will be able to cut along the lines you have drawn.

as for the scissors and body reamer you linked too... i have the same set and works great!! the scissors are curved though so be careful when cutting straight lines

good luck and post some pics when you are finished... that reminds me i should get to posting pics of the bodies i have done lol

I, too, prefer liquid mask for painting bodies. I use the same stuff that BrokeCollegeBoy uses (I just buy bigger bottles), and I apply it with some cheap paint brushes that I bought at a local store. You will want a sharp #11 hobby knife to trim it well.

As for reamers and body scissors... I use Duratrax curved lexan scissors and a Duratrax Ultimate body reamer. Both work well. I also have an RPM body punch that works great.

Painting really isn't that difficult as long as you take your time. Also, check out this website for many good painting tips.

the reamer is used for making holes in the body such as the mounting holes, antenna hole, any airflow holes you want make, etc...

yea like cooleocool said... painting isn't that difficult if you take your time and dont try to rush.
