Well, the shells are cheap, no painting necessary, already has holes for the wheels and it is not recommended to make an antenna hole, if equipped.

    Hello,

There has been some hints to a possible rock crawler on the Traxxas forums. There is an ad in the back of a Rock crawling edition magazine that has ten stairs and tire marks on them it says "UNSTOPPABLE ANY TERRAIN ANY CHALLENGE ONE TRUCK" and says Traxxas at the bottom I was suprised to hear this because you guys are alwayse pretty secretive about new products untill they show up on the home page. Do you have any infomation about it or confirm it a Rock crawler?

    Thanks

    Stephen Lindholm
    Hello,

Unfortunately not. They just told us about the ad, not what it was referring to. Just keep an eye on www.traxxas.co since that is where any information will show up first.

Know that I look at it more I think I miss understood what he was saying it looks like hes saying Unfortunately not that he cant tell me about it not that its not going to be a crawler. Flame away

Thanks Cynix....Yeah, that is almost the same answer I got on a few emails asking about the E-Revo from Steve. I think he is saying he doesn't know, and I actually think I beleive him. I don't think those guys are told that kind of info. But then again.....

i don't think it is a rock crawler, it might be another monster, but that is my thought. rock crawler tires don't get that wide and loook how wide apart the wheels are, it looks like a monster size

Could be a 'Super Scale' crawler (AKA 1/8 scale). The tires would be that wide and that spaced apart if that was the case. But I think if TRX made a crawler it would follow suit with their other vehicles and be 1/10 scale and compete with the AX10.

That's true, but still. Traxxas has had their eyes on it for a while I'm sure. Every time they release something, it's innovative and full of new features that nobody thought of before. I should think that this would be no different.

yea your right, whatever traxxas is doing they are probably doing it right. but how do crawlers go up stairs any way, do they go at an angle or straight up or both?

I can imagine that taking stairs straight on would be very, very hard.

But really, this is just an ad. Even if it is crawler it isn't going to leave tire treads, let alone tread that reaches all the way into the corners of each step. I'm just saying to keep in mind it is ad, or commercial if you will.

Yeah, but the whole Slayer ad campaign is around CORR right now, so this doesn't really fit that. Not saying the tires couldn't be used for something else though.

Why wait on traxxas ,if you want a traxxas rock crawler build it ! I have been working on a traxxas based super for a while , I have the ground clerance I have the low c.o.g. and I have the width cut down to a comp size , just too lazzy to finish. Supers are getting to be more for bashing around than comps. the super class does not allways fill up (at least ten ,finals is usally top ten) We seem to average 30 to 40 2.2 trucks , and next year we might have 2.2 limited class (mostly no dig) the tire print on the back of the crawler mag looks a lot like the new tmaxx treads.
I have had more traxxas product than most small hobby shopes!
