I was strictly using my slayer for drag racing until today, I forgot how horrible this thing is off road. You have to more or less stop to turn it, if you hit a bump on the track it rolls and flips wildly. I was so frustrated with it I threw it in the shed, I will fool with it again when the drags come up again.

well what do you mean by off road? the slayer should do great. unless you are rock crawling. the slayer should own the track. whats your springs colors and your preload set at?
Get the sway bar set it works great I have it and I can turn just like I can with my revo
I wanted to put a really cool signature but I ran

i recommend the sway bar kit (using black bar in front, silver in rear)
then swapping rear springs to front and putting orange (3.2) springs in rear. Mine bites awesome now.
I took mine to the track yesterday for the first time and at first it sucked but once i softened the suspention all the way it handled fantastic around the turn and jumps and kept up will with the rc8t and the 8ight t that wqas running there. I love this truck
Slayer
Tmaxx 3.3
4-tec 2.5
Stampede
I love this truck to. I also run my suspension soft on the track.Originally Posted by strife46

Yeah i couldn't imagine my E-slayer being nitro and stalling left and right, plus rolling over all the time.
I cant remember what my springs are, Ive changed them 4-5 times, I have probably the 3rd softest right now. I tried putting stronger springs and shock oil, and lowering it, helped, but still bad. I think Ive decided to keep it strictly a drag truck, lighten it up, gear it up, and put some foams on it. Im on a grass/dirt track in my back yard.
wire ties have become my best friend!!!!!!!!!!!!lol
sup shorty?
same ole same ole, tryin to make a dolla outa 15 cents....lol
yea im tryin the same thing but get opposite results, i spend a dollar and only get 15 cents worth
Ok, I did some mods and it does not roll easily anymore.
Trx hard anodized gtr shocks
revo white dots rear ,stock rears front
asso 50wt
1.3 pistons(slayer stock)
Proline badlands(a bit narrower then stock)
This http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_t_NTX1Sk4 shows only the warm up, As you can prolly see the truck still sags at rear on wot and front gets low on brakes -but both front wheels stay on groung alot better then stock,
IŽll try and make a new vid tomorrow including more bashing.
If you can read this , congrats! you can read.
That stuff is really really loose though, try the same thing on a higher traction surface. The slayer is too narrow plain and simple.
umm. what do you write about? -this is not revo or touring car. -If someone wants to drive on asphalt /grippy surfaces why would they get a truck that is build for sand/gravel/dirt?
Too narrow? is it? -this is scale truck.
I belive that this is well build and handles great -if you use it on surfaces it was build for!
I dont use my tourer on gravel, why would i use this on asphalt/high gripping surfaces?
If some one wants to have a car that will not roll, use a touring cas and slap slash body on it. --am I the only one that gets what this truck is???
If you can read this , congrats! you can read.
Ranger is correct. This is a scale truck designed for dirt. If you want to drive it on asphalt then you should not complain about flipping over because it was not designed to run on it. That being said with some suspension mods (roll bars etc.) and some skills, this truck will do pretty well on asphalt. When I first drove mine I flipped it almost every time I went close to top speed. Now after some mods and a little expo on the steering I rarely flip in on the street.
Uhh.... wasnt talking about driving it on asphault, my track is packed dirt. you are driving it on gravel in that video, of course it will slide....
I fixed the flipping/rolling problem but now I have a sliding/spinning problem....
and i still have no idea what that means?Originally Posted by rhino420
