    Home made hump pack

I pulled apart a millwalkie 18V battery pack today at work. It had 5 good cells left in it so I took them home soldered 4 them back together and tried it in my .15 T Maxx. I just ran it and it seams to run fine. Has any one els tried this or am I about to blow the electronics out of the truck?

just as long as the battery is wired correctly,it will not blow your electronics.(come to think of it if it charged up ok you should be all set)
i experimented with soldering my own battery packs up...they have been running just fine, just make sure you wrap them good, they can shake the solder loose...or with bad shrink wrapping on them its only a matter of time before the solder breaks off.........im no pro,but this is what i experienced

these are sub c. I started with 4 but it was only putting out 5.06v so i added anuther cell and im up to 6.2. Right now Ive taped them with elc tape but ill stop by and pick up some shrink wrap on my way home.
BashFiend did you use the battery tabs or 14aug wire?

Where the old one was. I took out the battery box and put it there. i have a roll cage though so i zip tied it there. I don't mind extra weight as i don't race and my truck is way too fast as it is anyway. The battery on a full charge lasts around 20+ hours.
