New tires and rims for 3906 E-Maxx

I was looking for some help on the purchase of good rims and tires for my 6 year old stock emaxx. Will be used for mostly backyard bashing and jumping. Any suggestions or links would be much appreciated.

the body will fit with a slight mod , just have to make 2 new holes in the bed of the truck . i got a 3905 body with the graphics an painted it orange , came out sweet .

Is the 83X56mm the rim size I need for those badlands and do they need to be glued? I really like them badlands! They look perfect for bashing!

I have some Bowties glued to some Proline rims, on my 3906 and I love them... but I hear that they wear quickly if you drive on road a lot. They sure do drive well on road though!

Mine are 40 series. I believe you specifically have to use 40 series rims. I don't even know what 40 series means to be honest! But I do believe they are a kiss wider than non-40 series tires. Bowties are great on dirt, but I drive mine on grass, gravel, and the street. Neighborhood bashing basically. They grip well, so you can wheelie like crazy.

I have a set of Imex Swamp Dawgs to. They came mounted some Maximizer Beadlock rims that I got used on Ebay.
I got a fab deal ($45 for all four rims and tires!), but if I were to have bought NEW Beadlocks, I would have purchased these. You will have to buy 17mm hex adapters, if you don't have some already.

But I must say that I find those Swamp Dawgs to be sorta clumsy. They seem to almost slow my truck down a little. They aren't meant for speed, but would be great in the mud and dirt!

I would spend the extra and get some Beadlocks. That way you can put any tire you want on them, without having to mess with glue. If you don't mind gluing, then the sky is the limit really. HPI makes great looking rims, but so does ProLine. It's all about your tastes really. Check out the tire selection at Imexrc.com because they have a ton of cool tires.

I think for backyard bashing, the best tire is probably the Mulchers (I plan on getting a set soon!) Beadlocks don't accommodate 40 series tires I don't think.

You could also check out the ImexRC Step Dawgs (I'd get Medium):

I also like the looks of the Claw Dawgs. They are similar to the popular Pro Line Masher's.

So, if it were me, I'd get some Maximizer Beadlocks and some Mulchers or Mashers, and let 'er rip!

Wow Jp! Thanks for all the links and info. Looks like I have allot to chose from. The beadlock system (I guess) is the way to go. I hated gluing the tire to the rim.

i'm a fan of maximizers. they are a bit more to get started but you'll never have to get other wheels. even if you break one you can get the part you broke. here is a link for wheels, all with stock hex size. they are available from several different sites.

Get some trencher X's with desparado wheels. Love them! They are huge and grip onto everything I throw at them.

They did, the maxx size was in 3.2 bead has been discontinued for a couple of years now, the only size they still make them in is 2.8 size for trucks like the Rustler, Stampede, Ten T.

You can find them on ebay from time to time.

I also liked my PL Mashers, wish I had not ripped them try to move them from some broke wheels.

I really want to try the IMEX Swamp Dawgs but can't seem to find them anywhere.
