Rustler vxl on 3s lipo smokes a slayer any day of the week in a drag race and on road. But for racing I think it is close... Brushless electric kills the nitros trust me my rusty has wheelie problems and sometimes is not even fun to drive because of all of the power. You break a lot of parts under this kind of power so be careful.
Agree with slowenufs sig wheres the new 4 tec?

You will probably break less parts with the slayer because the body covers the whole truck. The rustler is a faster truck on 3s lipos. If you are going to race it it is more the driver than the truck but the slayer would probably be better for racing.

4WD will usually outperform any 2WD and seeing that a Slayer has the DNA of a Revo...I would take the Slayer as the race winner but the Rustler VXL on a 3s lipo would smoke it in a drag race.

Are we talking Slayer or Slash here...guess I should read all the threads first.

Nitro rustler Vs Slayer-Slayer hands down. I barely run my rustler 3.3. With the slayer if you aint happy wit it then slap on a couple things and bam you got a revo and one awesome mt.

I have both and have found they are both great to run and play with. They have their different speciality area. I have my Rustler set up pretty much for harder surfaces like the road. But,,,, once you get the Slayer dialed in,,,, you will have a blast with it.
