Question Want to buy a used T-maxx

I already have a nitro rustler and would like to get a T-maxx. To save some money however I would like to get a used one. I have a brand new 3.3 that I would like to put in a T-maxx. How much would it cost to get a T-maxx with maybe no engine or an old one? Where could I find one? Also what improvements has traxxas made to the newer maxx trucks? thanks

There is a little site on the net called E-Bay that always has Maxx stuff for sale.

Check the buy and sell on the site here. Check craig's list. Etc.

Your last question can't really be answered all that well because you haven't specified the improvements over what truck. But in general many things have changed. New diffs, new tranny, new centers, new chassis' etc. But everything is upgradeable.

    For a roller 3.3 t-maxx I wouldn't pay more then $200, $225 in great condition.

That one looks good! I'd pay $150 max for it I think.

But it does have an engine that is "supposed" to run. So that counts for a bit too.

That's why I have a brand new 3.3 in the box waiting for a truck. I'm going to build it this winter. Will a 2.5 maxx handle the 3.3 without breaking too much?

-The transmission should hold up if it has FOC, at least for a while.
-The center shafts will be a big weak link and you will need to upgrade those.
-The differentials, mainly the rear, might go bad and will need to be upgraded to E-maxx 16.8 differentials. (cheap on Ebay)

    Everything else would/should be ok.

I got a 2.5 t-maxx with no engine for ~$125 shipped with alot of new parts like chassis plate, braces, skids, bumpers, tires and a foc and forward and reverse gears to put it back to stock. I will throw in some extra spare suspension parts also just in case.
