dude they are at an international toy fair with dozens if not more of booths of RC manufacturer's so using a 2.4ghz system would be a REQUIREMENT. just like the full size kits they have water-tight receiver boxes so you can just slap in any 2.4ghz receiver system

i have a futaba 2.4ghz receiver sitting here waiting to go in my mini e-revo

I'm sure they want to push the Summit and Erevo BE at the moment.
This way they get more people to buy more kits. If all four were on the site right now someone might just buy 1 instead of 2 (or more).

I'd still guarantee that the VXL 380 they have in it would blow away a 3.3 if running 3s lipo.

I predict that Traxxas will one day in the distant future release mini nitros with mini Traxxas engines. It's been done before.

i love the description of a "really angry bee" running around, lol. not to mention after you start the engine it'd slowly start sinking through the chassis from melting....lol. it'd be *vroom, vroom, large exspensive speed bump*. these are gonna be sweet when they get em out. and i'd love have mini nitros to haul around with me. heck, grab a mini gatorade bottles' worth of fuel and a back pack and you could take it anywere.

Man, I'm truly thinking of selling my E-Revo for a mini E-Revo. I would have BL, water proof, 40 MPH top speed, I could throw it in my back pack and drive it in between classes, all for $300, maybe throw on a new body, wind and tires and it would be sweet. Could buy a couple of small LiPo batteries for it and run all day. Although it couldn't go through as much because its quite a bit smaller, but it would still be fun and I don't race, I just drive for fun.

I already have so much money in my E-Revo and it sitting side lined in my room because the brushed motors keep dying on me.
    I have the following:

    Two ***** Flight Max 4S1P LiPo's in parallel (125+ amps contin./10,000mah/14.8v)
    Tekno Sway Bar kit
    Traxxas Red Aluminum Push-Rods
    JC Concepts Wing
Rulux Half-ups weels paired with Badlands MT's
    Single motor mount/cover
    2 speed tranny + 58Spur/28Pinion
    Prol-line Desert Rat 3.3 body
    Revo front bumper
    TQ 3 Channel remote
    Long throw steering stop
    Dual stage pistions
    Green springs front/tan rear

Dewalt 12v coming in the mail since I went through 3 sets of titans, 1 700-HO and I've driven it maybe 40 runs. Sadly I just don't have $300 for an mmm combo, so I'm stuck with brushed for now. The problem is the E-Revo is so big and heavy it kills motors and if you gear it down it only goes 27~28mph, which isn't much fun unless your on a really small track.

What do you think I could get on E-bay for that setup with the LiPo's once I get the dewalt in there? BTW its all NEW, the wheels, body, tires, wing, swaybar, 2 speed have only 3 runs on them. I'm just curious. I was thinking $450 + shipping would be reasonable.

I just thought of that! I could get more Lipos at a time if I get the Mini because the lipos are soo cheap. I wonder how it would run in dirt and grass. I probably won't get it though.

The video was of a prototype, not a production version, so of course Traxxas staff is going to run a 24Ghz radio...duh, heh!

No, you will need to run the smaller 2/3A cells or mini-LiPos like you run in the Mini-T, RC18, etc.

As has been said before, the use of the 2.4GHz radio was probably due to them being at at hobby fair and not wanting interference from radios being used at other booths.

I also talked to Traxxas today and they told me that both the mini Slash and the mini ERevo will be released with the brushless system, they were undecided on the radio, and that they should retail between $300 and $350. They are hoping to release between mid to late April.
I am sure that Brushless Moose is correct on the radio so that they can keep the price down. I just wish that Traxxas would offer all of their models without radios to lower the price even more.

here is what they told me

"The 1/16 scale trucks should be in US hobby shops sometime this
spring. They are in the prototype stage right now so the final product has
not yet been decided. They will probably cost around $300 for the
brushless Slayer EX and around $300 for the brushless E-Revo 1/16.
    "

I thought they dropped the slayer EX name?
