I've been to the Leisure hours indoor track when it's crappy out in the winter. Just to practice though no racing. I'm pretty sure not alot of people look on here to often. Now I just have a all aluminum E-maxx for bashing and 2 vintage sledgehammers. Not racing material

They have that huge rock quarry on 294 when your heading to Indiana! It looks like it would be a awesome place to bash if you can get in.

    Well hey all.

I am in Lombard, about 12 minutes from Als HS in Elmhurst. It's a decent place. They can get anything you want, but we are on the internet and could do the same. The stock most common things and are fair on their prices.

Sometimes when I go there I get treated well and get a discount on even the smallest things, other times it's like they don't know I'm there and charge me regular price even on complete RTR trucks. Very unusual. Maybe I loiter too much.

I would love to go to Joliet when they hae open practice or racing, if anyone is serious. I also have a couple parks NEAR me that shouldn't be a bashing problem. I usually just tear around the back yard/driveway.

If all goes well, I will be moving to Algonquin this summer. Anyone near there?

If I don't reply to this for days and days it's because I forgot so send me a PM reminder it's here. - Thanks!

Yup, they also carry pretty much every Traxxas part you can imagine, plus RPM and others. They also sell planes, helicopters, and boats.

Come mid to late april there are a bunch of guys that go out to busse woods of the biesterfield side by N/W hospital in the past. I was there the last couple of years and it seemed alright. Usually it takes place on sundays after 12:00 PM when most start to show up.
Has anyone been there before from here? If not ill try and keep you posted if i catch wind of people going out this year, and if you have, post up!

I just remember: On the corner of S IL Route 83 and St Charles Road in Villa Park there's a parking lot on the north/east side of the intersection. Theres a Dominics, blockbuster, and I think Sears. Anywho, that is where a bunch of people who frequent Als Hobby Shop go on Fridays. My wife and I drove by once and seen them but didn't stop. I asked at Als and they sadi its going until 4 in the morning sometimes and the cops are cool with it, they will radar gun ya and stuff. Deffinetly worth checking out.

If anyone lives in the Channahon area McKinley woods along the I&M Canal is a great place to bash with woods and trails. Starved rock in ottawa is far from Chicago but it's a great place to bash also.

I'm pretty sure you can't Legally get into the rock quarries off 294.

actually in my area there are alot of great places to go bashing! access to the quarry can only be done on sundays. when they are closed but the people there are cool.(what are little trucks going to do to limestone!?) but i also live pretty much in the middle of a huge forest preserve with all kinds of different areas.

Usually on sundays myself and several buddies(from the hobbie shops) have a couple of nice areas that we go to and have alot of fun.
Thornton illinois is basically where I-80 and I-94 meet up. about 25 miles south of the city of chicago.

Als is un organized, unsocial, and don't care about what you need. Almost everytime I've been there they sell me the wrong things.

This is true, most of the time.

I've never seen a place that is more inconsistant on general attitude and assistance. I think it depends on how much you spend there.

Leisure hours is great! Is the outdoor track open yet? Everytime I go I break something on my E-maxx or my rustler before I sold it. Everytime I was there there were a lot 1/8 nitro buggies not much else. It's a fun place regardless there hobby shop by Joliet mall is great 2 they have everything you could need and then some.
