    Hi Zack
I use a 52T Mod1 modified HPI Flux spur on my RRP double slipper
and between 15T to 19T Mod1 pinions I have tried a 22T but that was too much
The best gearing for my two 6 cell 4500 NiMh batteries are 17/52 on dirt and grass with the heavier 3,2 beadlock wheels
and 19/52 when using 3,8 series one piece wheels with slicks

Xmass was good to our kids but my KB Rally is on hold (have to get new glasses first)

I had something typed up a day ago but forgot to post it. Morten, I'm going to hate to have this page be all about a truck of mine lol. I will have a 72 tooth spur and 3.3spec diffs. lol. I suppose I should pull up BrianG's calculator. I hope he has the motor. Morten, what speed should I gear for? I would be happy with 22mph, but I want to gear it where I can run the truck in 85degree Fahrenheit weather and not worry about the ESC or the motor. I'm wondering if I should get FLM bulksfor this buddy truck...

Yeah Dtnel I'm sorry to hear that I'm sure that is hard for many serious reasons. How are you liking the Slash 4X4?

I put this in the calculator and figured that my buddy truck should go 90mph. hum! I can't wait!

...Yeah right! Apparently a 7.4v 10 turn 540 is not the same as a 14.8v 10 turn 750. the KV value of a 540 10turn is 6526. Brian doesn't have a 775 selection in fact all the brushed stuff is generic and very limited. I don't know but I should never have gotten away from brushed if my truck will be going 90. lol. I will be selling all my castle stuff very soon. This is big news.

I used the Summit as a gearing reference
(yes, I use Brian's calculator allot)
My top speed is around 24Mph with LiPo and 21-22 with NiMh

I use 1345kv for the 775 in the calculator

    Thanks Morten!

    Any reason for using 1345?

By that standard I have to use a 23t pinion to achieve 23mph. Does that sound right? That speed is fine really as that brings me right in line with the stock Emaxx on 12 NiMH cells. I'm thinking I can gear for more than 23 though.

    Differential Ratio: 2.8461538461538463

It's based on GPS readings and Volt measurements

I knew my top speed and the volt my batteries put out
And I adjusted the Kv to match
so It's a rough guess but it seems to be quite accurate

If we knew the EXACT Kv for the 775 it would make things allot easier
I tried the math with my 2350Kv from my 1/8th buggy and got 54Mph

Oh Yes that 23Mph looks fine
The real test is when you strap a GPS on to your Maxx, then you know if it's accurate

Great! I may order a bigger spur or a 25t pinion as well as the 23 I have a 13 as of right now. lol

Thanks Morten! I'm done for now! You keep rocking the 3906 in Denmark and I'll keep rocking both of mine in Alabam!

Gps is very accurate. I've done my old 3906 and got 22mph. Also did my EMBE on 6s and went 51.3. On the second run the front end came up and it wasn't pretty... Truck started flipping, gps went airborne, truck went in the ditch. I was thinking "please don't have water, please don't have water" SPLASH. On the good side, esc wasn't underwater so it still worked, gps did too

Josh, what a story!! I know that feeling well my friend! LOL I think you describe it perfectly. What a sinking feeling. Still so nice to look back.

Morten, that sounds like a plan!! Around the end or the beginning of the year we (my cousins from Georgia and I) make a trip to the closest track and run all day. The event always produces good video.Bu wtith more trucks than ever though this year I hope I can find a videographer. lol.

Oh yeah I've seen that. Well the track was great!! But the video will have to come from somewhere else. I don't think we got any. I may have to do that. My 775 is mounted BTW. I think its going to workout very well. I still have to attach the front and rear assemblies. I have it geared for about 23MPH i think with a 23pinion.

I assembled the parts of the truck tonight and ran it around in my small run. Its such a monster lol. I'm using the original 3906 chevrons and its bringing back the monster. I can't wait to let it loose tomorrow. I'm off work! The video will still come, promise.

i was wondering if you can give me any information on how you mounted the slash receiver box into your emaxx? maybe more pictures? it looks like it fits well and will keep it waterproof. i am looking into the same thing as i killed my 2215 receiver with water. so i was thinking of going with a 2216 micro receiver, still 27mhz AM, and using the slash box, if it will fit.

    any help would be great
    thanks
    Kyle

    Hey Kyle
the Slash box was mounted on a 3/8" high bracket

But I have changed to a Bandit Box with Link receiver and done a little dremeling on the braces to make it fit flush on the chassis

    Slash box :

    awesome thanks!
    a few more questions

which box did you like better?
they both use the 2216 micro receiver?
other then the 3/8 bracket, did you have to do any cutting for the slash box to fit?
thanks for the extra pics and info.

    Kyle, they both work perfectly
However the bigger Slash box covered the antenna mount
and the screws for the front bulkhead
That was one of the reasons for the switch to the Bandit box

But with the slash box I didn't have to cut my chassis

looks like i have some decisions to make, so with the slash box did you relocate your antenna?

    thanks

That video won't be happening. What can I say. I was dedicated and still other things came first and now I'm at college in the snow, while the trucks are at home, at least until spring break. I will say that the buddy truck with the 775 wild and alot of stylized fun.

    Well not in this one
I already got 2 brushless cars and I love how they drive (2wd buggy and 1/8th 4x4 buggy)

    However
    This one might be brushless
I'm designing a monster truck chassis, It'll have an E-Maxx 2 speed tranny and Twin Force axles. It's 420mm long and has a wb of 320mm and the top cage will be separate, either bolted on to the side or with spacers between the side and main chassis
