Crystal that gets the most interference
Hey guys.. i just have a quick Q. Is there a particular AM freq (crystal color) that gets the most interference? Are there any crystal colors that we should stick to? or avoid? Or they are basically the same?

As there is only 6 to choose from I don't think it will really matter.

there are only 6 traxxas crystals other brands have different crystals. but i think that you should just save and buy 2.4

i think the blue and red ones get more interference then my green ones do

i'm running yellow and i do get interference from time to time. Is FM a good upgrade from AM? or Just get 2.4DSM?

I am running a Hitex Aggressor SRX FM radio with the Spectra module and the Synthesized rx...no crystals to worry about and the rx has a built in failsafe. You can pick up nice FM radios off ebay for cheap now that many are changing over the 2.4s.

it really depends on your area.
nationwide there will be different results.be nice.

It definitely depends on your area, so use what you feel is best. Definitely stay away from blue though because its frequency is shared with CB radios and is the most likely to receive interference.
This chart shows the cb and r/c frequencies...you can see that cb channel 23 is the same as r/c channel six/blue. CLICK!!!Last edited by trx33; 03-10-2009 at 06:28 PM.

It depends i guess.. i have all crystals and get 0 interference with all of em unless i am inside my house then it goes nuts on me.
