600 degrees!!!!!!!!!!! I think I may have finally killed the 2.5.

you might check your batteries in whatever your using to read temperatures cause that don't sound right.
It is correct. I just checked the temp in my buggy then the tmaxx.

i think the motor would cease first at about 400 degrees..

Not only is it improbable...It’s impossible.
No slipper/tall gearing/power = broken parts.
I have had 600.92
Haha jk
Thats extremely high, check everything to avoid any problems!

I had over 400 once and I thought that was nuts.

i ran one of my 3.3's and hit around 475 right when it blew.. so i dont know about it seizing up at 400.. and all motors are the same...one could seize up at 250 the other at 450..
(by the way, my motor was toast anyways so i keeped on leaning and doing wot passes)
600 sounds impossible in these motors.. it'll start expanding so much it wouldn't run at all.
Well, unless that temp exceeded the range of the meter it is correct. the truck has had issues for awhile. Will run fine then start slowing down in the low end. Today it finally stopped moving forward so I held the throttle wide open until it stopped, checked the temp, and saw 600+ degrees. It was also smoking pretty bad from the heat sink

i wanna see a pic of this 600* motor did it discolor i wonder what the melting point of the block is ...... never mind i found it melting point of aluminum is 1220*

You sure you pointed the temp guage at the glow plug? Not a mis-reading.
At 300 degrees the fuel starts to boil as soon as it enters the crankcase, at higher temps the nitro has evaporated before even making it into the combustion chamber.
If it was real 600 degrees I bet it would be a new record. I've never seen anything over 340. and anything I saw going to those types of temps was pretty much done for....![]()

at 600f it berst into flames !!! i doubt it because at 600f the truck would work like a big heat sync , and start moving that heat !!!!!!!!!!!
I had one get over 400 degrees once after that it was toast ruined the pinch on the cylinder.

What heat gun are you using? I don't know of a single hobby grade infra red that goes that high.
I don't know, this doesn't seem right to me either.
Way back in the day I had an O.S. 18TM up to 580, and btw the Micro Temp MTPRO goes up to -76* to +932*, so there are definetly hobby infra red guns that go the high.
Score 1 for 1:1 car
0 for Jato
Highest i ever had one go was 430.. the HSN was pretty much closed all the way.. if i took my finger of the throttle it would stall... engine lasted about 5 minutes after that doing insane wheelies though... it was worth it, considering im all brushless now![]()
This was using the supplied wire to my volt meter that reads temperature. who the **** knows, but i did see 600 degrees for several seconds. I pulled the motor today and I can easily turn it by hand with only some resistance. Does that confirm a fried motor? My poor max is trashed at the moment. I split the steering servo, my tranny only has one gear, and now my motor is toast.![]()
