Integy heatsink w/ fan on Slash with VXL?

Anybody know if this combo will fit on a Slash with VXL motor and RPM wheelie-bar mount (RPM80905)?

Seems like it would be tight, but Integy seems to claim it should fit.

What about on a Stampede with VXL motor?

    Thanks,
    Eph

Yeah - you did. Sorry. Just looking for other people's opinions and for some brainstorming.

What if the motor was somehow shimmied with washers to stand out further? The shaft is so long, so securing a pinion surely wouldn't be a problem if you could squeak 3-4mm more out of it.

Or, has anyone found a different heatsink/fan combo that works out of the box?

I think that any heatsink with a fan could not work, because it would be too big. Like I said though, I was planning on dremeling alittle to make it fit.

Even heat sinks? It's not like these things are going to take a lot of hits...

    Thanks

No slash. They are good heatsinks. They worked well for me. They may not be able to take a beating, but that is not what heatsinks are for.

Really? Wow. I have had mine for over a month and it is fine. Maybe you just got a bad one? (I race in dirt most of the time. Not racing or anything, but at construciton sites, on baseball fields, etc)

I think I'll just try that 5-fin integy heat sink mentioned in another thread. Would love to see how it is configured in a Slash, though...

I have the MM 5700 motor and I put a heat sink and fan on it. Works for me!

I was running an Integy dual fan heat sink on my MM 5700.. but it will no where near fit with the VXL.

Are you guys cutting away the useless part of the plastic gear case? Just about every heatsink in the world will fit once that useless bit is cut away (or so I thought. That is what I did with my Rustler and Stampede)

If you're running brushless, just get a aluminum gear case. It will act like a huge heatsink and keep the gears running nice and straight. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

My Novak fans have been running for months, through beach sand, grass, and very fine dirt. No problems.
