Need help on which Kv rating to go with!

I am looking in to a meusa motor for my slash. Either the 36-50-3300, or the 36-50-4800. I will be running 8.4 volt nimh, and 3s lipo. Which would be the more appropriate choice? I do not race, just bashing in dirt, grass, and speed runs on pavement. Also, Medusa reccomends advancing the timing on the esc. Can timing on the vxl speed control be advanced? Thanks

If you want to run both 2s and 3s lipo go with something around 3000-3500 kv. 3s only go a little lower, 2s only you can go higher. I wouldn't go past 4500 or so though. You can only gear the slash so low.

I am running a Castle sidewinder 5700 with a 2S 6000mah Lipo and I LOVE it. Its just perfect. I have been running 16/86 but I am going to try 18/86 tomorrow.

I personally prefer lower kv motors because of the extra torque and the ability to gear for high speeds.
