A-arms wearing away from Gladiator tires

My buddy is running Gladiators for rear tires and they are wearing away the RPM a-arms on the back.

Does anyone have any recommendations for what to do? Is it better to stick with the stock Traxxas a-arms to prevent this?

    Thanks.

Could you possibly explain in a little more detail how they are wearing away the rear A-arms. It just doesnt even seem possible.
Some like R/C's that are fast, others like nitro

When he is going over jumps, the rims are banging into the A-arms causing friction and thus wearing the plastic away.

I have also seen this on front a-arms with these tires and wheels, as well. I have seen people dremel their fronts to prevent the rubbing.

idk if its even the right rim for the car....rustler rear wheels work on a slash
i think hes talking about the bearing carrier because a wheel hitting the REAR a arm sounds a little off, i dk if it even possible... but thats just me

we all have a slash here (most of yall anyway) that doesnt seem right? that wheel must be reall small or have huge negative offset

I can't see how in the world the wheel could rub on the A-arm unless the bearing carrier was broken. He has to mean the bearing carrier.

He has the RPM rear revolver rims (the ones that are thick, like they were made for the Rustler) and some Gladiator tires (for the rear). When he hits jumps and the car hits the ground, the rims are hitting the a-arms in the front part, near the shock holes causing them to wear away. If I can get a picture of it tomorrow, I will post it.

^^ Agreed, if you are running with the right rims I don't see how that is possible unless something is broken.

I have some un-glued Revolvers. I mounted one to the truck to take some pics. HOWEVER, I havn't used the RPM drive hex, so the wheel would actually be closer to the chassis than it actually is. The stock drive hexes are wider, or rather the hex fitting in the wheel is shallower.

    Stock rear wheel:

RPM Revolver Electric Rustler Rear (Stock hex):

That is close. I think that with the RPM hex that will rub. There are only about 3 threads on the stub axle for the wheel nut!!! Anybody wanting Revolvers on the Slash, you better use fronts!!

the axle isnt long enough so teh nut doesnt grab much thread, the axle on the mip c-cvds are slightly longer so they help.

It is on the A-arm only - I know it's weird!

Does that mean I should go with the Rock Crawler RPM rear revolvers on the back instead of the E-Rustler ones? I don't want the same thing happening to me.

So basically, the point is that it has nothing to do with the tires. His buddy has the wrong rims or something is broken.

You could fit all of those comments into one post, and why don't you wait and see if they fit when they arrive???

As far as I can see, if they don't rub, it will be very close. It is possible that plastic parts will flex when you land jumps, and therefore may cause the wheels to rub.

Running 2 sets of Revolvers on 2 different Slash. IF your suspension is in proper condition, it should not rub maybe something was loose out of tolerance bad bearing etc. Like eemmaaxxxx said plastic does flex on a big jump the A arm could hit thats about it. But my rear skid would hit before the A arm flexed that much. So this is what I'm using with no rubbing I have a black set and one chrome set on
