    Diff Problem Help

Here is the problem. It seems that my car is running at half speed. I have the esc programed for sport mode. With both rear wheels turning at full throttle while the car is raised off the ground they only seem to be going half speed . If I hold on wheel to keep it from turning the other wheel then turns at full speed but then again when I let both wheels turn they drop to half speed. Any Ideas?

Are you sure that the ESC isn't in training mode?

I would do a re-program of the ESC just to make sure.

I have the VXL in mine, and it's plenty fast.. I just tried what you are saying on mine, and it does the same thing.

Basically, the reason it seems the other tire is going faster is because all of the power is directed to it instead of being spread out through the drive train.

I know it is in sport mode I rechecked it. Just seems it should be faster. When both wheels spin the tires wont hardly ballon at all but when I hold one or the other they balloon lie they should. Just for comparison I am just a little faster then a non vxl slash on a 8 cell nimh. I run 2s Lipo with vxl brushless. Stock gears

I tried all 3 of my lipos with the same result. Ling427ttvette could be correct.

the diff is working correctly, something between esc and motor is wrong, check, double check, then triple check 1) programing 2) throttle settings on radio 3) motor connections.

    then report back.

Both rear wheels roll without any resistance. When I turn one wheel by hand the other wheel turns in the oposit direction like it should. I ajusted the slipper clutch all the way in for testing purposes. Spur gear and pinion are at proper mesh. I re programed the ESC and set to sport mode twice just to make sure.

gear it up. the VXL motor is only 3500kv, on a 2s lipo (fully charged @ 8.4v) it can only run at about 30000 rpm... which makes it about the equal of a 15-17t brushed.. its not gonna be very fast... you have got to gear it up if you are wanting to see any real speed. or go up to 3s lipo... the VXL just int all that fast on that gearing and only running the low voltage.. sad, but true.

I could just be trying to compare it to some of my nitro speeds. I now that on 2s it can't hold a candle to my jato which is a beast or my RS4 EVO which is even faster. I will have to get a 3s and gear up to a 23T Pinion or put my Sidewinder and mamba 5700 in it. Thanks guys for the help. I got to go take the kid to the movies.
