Well Guys Got A New Project Going!

Going to be painting a new body soon and then be putting it on the freshly paint chassis. Going to do a wicked paint job to match the color of the chassis. Here some pictures of the body before painting:

Heres a picture of the chassis so far:

Hopefully you guys like it, it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to but oh well, still looks good. Just getting better every time I do one.

    Alright guys here they are:

Everything on this truck is free hand like the silver dots around windows, the water drop affect on red is very fun to do(you actually use water to create affect), its really hard to keep the water in one spot when doing the water drop affect, anyways hope you all like it. Once I get the chassis all done I will take some more pictures of it all finished, but I waiting on differential grease to finish.

im curious as to why you would intentionally make water spots in the paint like that but other than that it looks great. No cutouts?

Its just an affect that looks really cool when done right, LoL. I might just use this one my Slash when I get it paid for, idk yet. If I put on my Slayer I'm going to put to 50mm computer fans on the back for cooling, that will also give it a good appearance too. Just haven't decided yet?

how did you treat the chassis before paint?

I can't get paint to stick to AL for nothing...

It's cracks and pops off as soon as i put a screw to it.

Hey I like that water effect. I never would have guessed it until you said it. Maybe I'll try it on the next body, Desert Rat Special Edition. Do you have or know a video on youtube that shows how to do it. PM on what you did. Thanks.

Just go to you tube and type in "water drop effect" and you should get some good results. I will go through my history and see if I can find a link. I started messing around with that idea. It is really hard to pull off right when doing paint in reverse! A couple more tests sprays and I think that I can get it to look just as good as when done to an exterior surface. We'll see.

Nice job yamahaboy02! Paint job looks slick!
