The tires are truck tires instead of buggy tires.

How much heavier is the titus/(buggy)dirt hawg combo? It looks to be a heavy wheel.

ya they are pretty heavey, I weighed them when i changed them but i cant remember the number I think they were over double the stockers weight. but they work so well i couldn't be happier, it wheelies on any surface now. keeps up with my summit much better on off road surfaces, check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=240fX914DQc

Yeah but you're referring to the Truck Dirt Hawg, right? I'm wondering how much heavier the Buggy Dirt Hawg is over stock.

Both the Losi and Associated truck wheels are pin type and will not mount unless you install them directly to the axle pin, which I don't see as a worth while option.

It reduces your track width, handling characteristics and in my opinion durability...especially with 2.2 truck tires.

do you have a suggestion for a (preferably dish style) wheel that would allow these 2.2" truck tires to be mounted on the mini revo?

I have yet to find a 2.2 dish style truck wheel that is not a pin type mount.

Right now your only bolt on choice would be either the JConcepts Tense or the Pro Line Titus.

If you simply must have dish rims (and if you're feeling creative) you could cut and shut two buggy wheels together to get the appropriate width for the truck tires...just a thought.

The Losi Ten-T utilizes a 14mm hex with 320 series Force wheels, so if I had to guess, I would bet that the 320 Deeps are the same, or possibly a pin type mount since they've been around for a while.

HPI 2.2" Truck Dish Wheels for the Firestorm have 12mm hexes and have a deep offset. I had some on mine a few months ago... I'll take some pics if I find them this weekend.

    thanks.

by 'deep offset' do you mean, that the wheels make a wider stance?

I was yet unable too google a picture from the back side of the wheel :-/

A picture of the wheels mounted on a MERV would be great!

I did a little snooping and there is an older traxxas wheel for the bandit that'll work just fine. P/n 2651 I think. Next week I plan to get a set for some serious offroad tires. The stickers r ok in thick grass but not the best.

I know the first rims HPI SS Monster Rear (#LXM875) with the Dirt Hawg I (LXDU13) combination will work as I run them on my merv. I have a set of these rims in black with the sand paws for snow, and a set in chrome with the dirt-hawgs. I also use the blue aluminum wheel nuts as they fit on just about all the way, and the flat is serrated on the whole side, they lock on very tight.

is there a beadlock wheel that will fit on the merv and can fit

    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLN12&P=7

there truck tires. i figure the wheel needs to be approx 2" wide. i found a 1.7" wide beadlock but wondered if anyone knew of a better one?

i have titus beadlocks, but they are too narrow i beleive.

    so would these work?

    Hello,
Doesn't look like anyone has posted on this in a while, but I stumbled onto something that I haven't seen mentioned in any posts. I was searching for a combo that used pin-type tires similar to the Responses, but with a tire patch near to the width of the Talons... the Responses are just a little too narrow for my taste. I found this:

The wheel is the 2.2" RPM "Wide Wheelbase" Rock Crawler (#82232 Black). This is no surprise as this wheel has been discussed several times in this thread. With a small amount of mod, this works just beautifully for widening the cars stance without having to add any janky extenders. I've tried 3 different brands and haven't been overly impressed with any of them.

The surprise was that I found the perfect tire right here from Traxxas. The 2.2 Alias (#2470) from the rear of a bandit !! I think since the rear wheels of the bandit do NOT work for the Merv that people just overlook it. It is probably also assumed that, like most other Traxxas tires, it uses a Traxxas bead. This tire , however, uses a STANDARD tire bead and fit perfectly onto the RPM wheel

This combo gives the Merv a very stable stance and carves up corners

Note that in the vehicle pics below, the rear Talons have a 14mm extender on each side and this combo still gives more than a half in wider stance. I love the way the Alias's bite and I like keeping the "mini" a "mini" as opposed to strapping on 10th scalers... or bigger.
