    Lipos after hyperion G3?

    Hello,

I run two hyperion G3 VX lipos in 2s 5500mah, serial connected of course. I would like to extend my runtimes and buy new lipos. I'm looking for the best bang for bucks alternative. I hesitate upgrading to 6S. Do you have any advice? I use my ERBE everywhere I can bashing on and off road.

Would these be a good choice? I have to make sure they fit the E-revo

Get one of my ERBE harness sets or make your own and go parallel with two 4S packs .... gives you longer run times and you are still on 4S.

    I thought about parallel .

I don't want to stay absolutely in 4S, I'm looking for the best setup for general bashing . I just don't want to have less power than my G3s

Longer runtime would be nice, what is more it takes less time to charge two 3300mah instead of two 5500mah for example.

I have two ***** 4400mah 4s batteries in parallel. That 8800 total. They fit nice, and i didnt hav eto mod my battery compartment. More than 4s isnt really good for general bashing. 6s just puts too much power out and ends up in broken parts constantly. Or you can run these and be at 8000mah but have 160amp continuous for cheap

You can buy two 8000-9000mAh 2S or 3S SPC packs if you want to stay with a series connection, but with the harness above, it allows you to run parallel if you want, and remove it to run series...it does not permanently make your setup parallel. In parallel you can get the same 8000-8800mAh at a much cheaper price.

Nope if you charge at 1c each it will take about 1 hour for each
if you dont break something go higher and faster

Oh ok then it's exactly the same than my G3s

Well parallel seems to be a good solution to me. I'll probably try 5S then

Does anybody know why there is always two different weights for the lipos on ********* website?

One is with a full charge and the other is when the charge is drained....

One weight is for the pack, the other is the weight used for shipping costs (slightly higher to account for box and packing).

    Ok thanks!

    I think I know what I want .. >=200A, 30C, 5S

    The problem is lipo "heights".

    Here are the dimensions:

    ******* 3300mah 5S 30C:
    Pack Size: 139 x 43 x 33mm

    ******* 3600mah 5S 30C:
    Pack Size: 139 x 43 x 36mm

    ******* 4000mah 5S 30C:
    Pack Size: 143 x 49 x 32mm

    And revo's lipo box is 160 x 51 x 30mm

Is it possible to push 32mm height lipos in a 30mm box without damaging it?

You will need to modify the compartments, or use smaller packs.

actually, the best/cheaper combo you can buy from ********* is 2x 4S ******* 4000mah 30c run in parallel, so you have 4S 8000mah 30c = 240A and they fit without mod.

I don't get it, aren't two 4s parallel 4000mah batts the same as two 2s series 8000mah batts?

why go thru all the trouble with crazy wiring adapters etc to get the same thing?

yes its the same, but where you can find a 8000mah 2S 30c?
    spc 8000mah 2S 20C 150$ for two and you have 160A
    smc 8000mah 2S 28c 190$ for two and you have 224A
    smc 9000mah 2S 28C 250$ for two and you have 252A

    now, ******* 4000mah 4S 30C 100$ for two and you have 240A

    you got it?

edit: i dont think this is a crazy wiring adapters.

I'm convinced parallel is the best solution for longer runtimes.

How does it work with ********* when the stock is negative? You don't even know when you can get the lipos right?

Because 2S 8000mAh 30C packs don't exist, and the 28C ones are pretty expensive, so it is easier and cheaper to use 4S 4000mAh 30 packs instead. The wiring adapters aren't crazy, they are very simple.

I agree, parallel is the way to go!

When stock is negative, you just don't know how long it will take for them to come back into stock, but you can sign up to get an email when they do...but you still don't know how long that will take. Your best bet is to just buy the next battery down the line that is in stock.
