Yes you are trying to start something there is nothing new there.

I think it is great to have the choice. I dont feel the need for a hard case but some tracks require it. Having more packs to chose from just seems better to me. I personally plan on sticking with the 2s 8k packs.

Well, this is a good news, bad news kind of thing.. good news is the battery came out of my mailbox in perfect balance @ 3.83v per cell, I installed a deans and charged it up... got to the track to race and then the bad news... i was showing the pack to a friend, he started to plug in the wiring, and i cautioned him not to mix the polarity.. he stopped and handed it all back to me.. and i proceeded to plug them in reversed and well.. my ESC was not happy.. LOL.. I only got to run it for like 10 minutes in my other truck before i went home to nerd rage.. LOL.. I am dyslexic, and i blame my mishap on that.. HAHA.. I really do.. to be serious... the pack is CLEARLY marked... i just didn't do it right... its not funny, but it is... kinda...

I will install another ESC in the truck and get a full run in today to actually get a real run on this thing... it is BTW the 20c pack. and in my spare truck i ran it in, it was quite "poppy" and the truck had no troubling wheeling down the back straight... track was wet clay and truck had geolanders on it.

This may be a stupid question, but how did you hook it up backwards? You charged the pack after installing the Deans connector,so it must have been soldered correctly. So how do you plug it in to your ESC backwards? All the Deans plugs I've ever seen only plug in one way.

I think I can answer that for DrFizz....the packs have bullet like plugs that plug into the pack on the opposite end from the Deans plug, they are not hardwired. So you can reverse polarity on this end if you are not careful.

Oh,I didn't notice the banana jacks when I was looking at the website. That makes sense. The whole comment about soldering on a Deans plug threw me off.

I like the idea of banana plugs. They tend to be much more universal for all vehicles.Much less chance of having to cut or file stuff to allow clearance for the wires.

Ok.. First full run in... 45 minutes... I didnt hit the cut off, but simply stopped when the wheelies were no longer on riding the bonzai bar.. LOL.. I'm guessing i was moments from the cut off... I'll get the pack on the charger and see how many mah it takes.. I was using it on a sidewinder w/ 4600 system... I'll make a more concise and comprehensive post including all the info all in one spot once i unload the car and charge the pack...

Yeah harry.. Dad was right, I reversed the banana plugs.. MY MISTAKE.. it is not confusing or hard to see.. I simply made an error ..

Be carefull running down your packs past 50% for the 1st 2 or 3 runs. Sounds promising though.

I heard *****'s emitted magical rainbows with each having it's own pot of gold at the end, bet you can guess where .

Really though, wouldn't 1 way plugs be a good thing on these? Or perhaps a replaceable fuse?

While I don't recommend running the packs down to the 3.0 Volt minimum, I have never experienced any problems in the past due to running beyond a 50% cutoff for the first few cycles.

That is how I have always treated new lipos. The first few runs I stop before I hit LVC but I definitely run the packs lower than 50%

I put another cycle on it. another 35-40 minute run out at the park next to my kid's school... HUGE grass field, some really fun desert landscape to run on... lots of WoT... again in a rusty with sidewinder 4600 geared 23/86.

After yesterday's run, it took 4400ish MAH to fully charge which is about what i expected being as i didnt run it to cutoff... charged at 6 amps each time so far. its maintained perfect balance since i opened the box... aside from me being a , and cooking an ESC, running this thing has been flawless.. I would suggest this to anyone looing for a hard cased lipo on a budget.

I always wondered why companies used the banana plugs on batteries that are rumored to be so "dangerous".It is really easy to hook them up backwards if you're not paying attention. So I guess that means you should pay attention when hooking them up.A friend of mine has a couple Trinity lipos that have the same design. He took a piece of red and a piece of black electrical tape to mark the battery.Really helped alot,at least for me.I was helping his wife set up her truck Saturday and when I went to plug the battery in,it was obvious as to which wire went where with the colored tape in place. Aside from the chance of reversing the wires,I really like the banana plugs because it eliminates alot of the dremeling and cutting that is sometimes required to fit lipos that come with the conventional wiring.

Can't wait to get my hands on that 40C!

Why do you post things like that when you know it will start a flame war?

And yet you had to comment . But I do find it funny how not only do the packs look alike, how the numbers(amps and capacity) are the same. Though I would still consider SPC over the other just b/c it's cheaper in price and the how SPC 40c can handle up to a 3c charge rate
