We haven't zeroed in on the final price, but it'll be under $400 and in stores for early December. Three hundo might be doable for a brushed/AM radio/no battery combo, but Slash 4X4 is brushless, with a 2.4GHz radio and a high-quality 7-cell NiMH battery. Not cheap, but definitely a great value. Can't wait to get mine!

Any plans for a kit minus the battery and radio since that usually gets replaced anyway?

If it's around $300 to $350, I will be selling my current 2wd Slash and some other parts and saving to get this.

If it's any higher, I am going to wait until price comes down. I'm not going to pay an extreme amount for a newly released item to only see it cheaper 3 months later..

Considering what you get I would call under 4 pretty reasonable, but I too would like an option without the charger, battery, and perhaps the transmitter/reciever combo. Like all the Bind n' Drive combos out there.
Some like R/C's that are fast, others like nitro

yea, it kinda sucks having to pay for a 2.4g radio with no adjustments that will get replaced, an esc with the same issues and a 3000mah Ni-MH that will get tossed in favor of a 2 or 3 cell lipo.....Ideally it would be available as a kit like the SC10 (and all the original traxxas buggies and trucks) that way we are not stuck paying for equipment that will not get used

If they are coming out with a brushed/cheaper version I'll get it. I'm holding off for now, I dont need anymore traxxas spare electronics laying around. I would really like to see an almost ready to run version.

Now that I think about it, If the truck costs $350 and you could sell the radio and receiver for $50, the VXL system for $100 and the stock batt and charger for $25.....that means a roller would only cost $175 in the end

Good point. I want one, but I don't need the tx/rx, or the battery. I'd just buy another Tactic reciever for mine and put a 3s in there. Run it like that til the Velineon crapped out and then upgrade to a MMPro.

Well, the way I see it: (all prices from Tower)
    +Rustler VXL = $290
    - 2ch TQ AM radio = $50
    +2ch 2.4ghz TQ Radio = $120
    +Traxxas 7cell = $40

    Total: $400

Towers prices are what the items are sold for, so Traxxas prices are much cheaper. I can see them offering the 4x4 Slash for $350 easy, maybe even as low as $325, but probably not. Thats my guess.

Would anyone like to pre-order the radio and receiver that I will be selling from my Slash 4x4? JK! I bet there will be a ton of them on ebay after this truck comes out! Used 2x4 Slashes will also become a cheaper buy. It's gonna be a fun truck; I can't wait to see it at the LHS! My local places have no idea when they'll have them. Three bills sounds like a decent price....

mmmsummit, its for both.. a kit/roller..
id sell my electronics in the slash 4x4 too.. but thats not how the parents look at it.. they look at it as, 400 bucks for an rc.. not 400-150=250

I think $399 for a VXL 4x4 Slash with a battery and charger is a good price but Iím probably going to wait a few months before I buy one to save a little money. But if itís $349 I might buy it a little sooner.

i think a good base model would be, am radio, 550 or 775 titan"s", and no battery! just my opinion.

in return would bring the price way down.

I think you're right...It'll proably be around the price of a Slayer. Traxxas needs to make up that money...It just makes sense... 4wd Slayer at the 370 price range = low sales ...The 1/16th 4wd Slash, again Low-ish sales...RC racing itself gave a bit a boost to the sales of the 2wd Slash because tracks opened up classes for it. What better move to make than to bring out a 4wd version to make up $ lost over the Slayer and the 16th scale model?
    Good move Traxxas.
