Anybody else as disappointed as i am?

well before you guys get too mad at me, i must say this looks like a great truck and i would love to have one. in fact, i may just have to save up to get one.

However, i am very dissapointed that they didnt release a 1/8th truggy or buggy. i have been looking to get a truggy for some time now and i was really hoping traxxas was finally going to make one. i know theres a lot of people out there want a TRAXXAS Truggy so i figured they would make one.

I am not disappointed. Making a 1/8 buggy with a big block motor is so un-traxxas like.

I LOVE this slash 4x4!!! I may have to sell my pede to get one.

i doubt they will ever release an 8th scale racer beacuse they would make it rtr and the price would be too high

I'm buying one only to convert it to a 4x4 BackSlash...

I already converted my Slash to a BackSlash...

So, I will have the 4x4 Buggy I wanted from the first time...

keep in mind the ERBE is ~$650. i think they could get a truggy pretty close to that price, considering they are the same size, and if electric would likely use the same motor, esc, and radio.

This truck has all the makings for an electric eighth conversion.Center diff,no transmission,Revo diffs, center driveline, mid mounted motor.Way more suitable for conversion than when guys were doing those backslash things. They were next to pointless.

I agree AK, I'm not disappointed in the truck itself, but the fact that it wasn't something totally NEW. I like it, but would've like something bigger and well, new lol.

technically, it is completely new. it looks like almost every part is new. the fact that its just another short course truck is what is the same. this is basically an e-slayer without the revo suspension. i wouldve expected them to put a mamba monster in, but at least they made it monster mamba ready.

while this could be converted to a 1/8 buggy, i dont think you could make a truggy out of it, and thats what i really want

Yeah, that may be pushing it a little. But it will definately be the best suited Traxxas platform for 1/8th buggy conversion by a landslide.

At first I was a little disappointed because I was expecting a 1/8 BB T-Maxx (event thou Iím an electric guy ) but after I looked at it in more detail I was very impressed with what Traxxas has made here (not just an E-Slayer but that would have been ok). I will hope to buy one a few months after itís released.

But to all the people upset with Traxxas for not making what they expected, itís not like Traxxas isnít going to make anymore RCís. Give it time and most of you will get what you want.

i dont consider this a remake at all. it has heaps of new parts and a completely new design.

mid motored single battery and 4wd. not like a slayer or a slash 2wd.

I would much rather have a top notch CORR truck release, than yet another 1/8 buggy on the market....I mean sheesh, pick between the 20 that are already out....its not like they are junk to choose from. They are all tough as nails...I am glad they didnt throw another buggy in the mix.

    They exceeded my expectations.

yea theres no way this will be cheap. stock slash is $200, vxl is $150, and 2.4ghz is $120. id say we're looking at $425-$500

As great as this new Slash might be, some of us were hoping that it was going to be a 1/8 truggy. A truggy is what we've been asking for, for a very very long time. Maybe next release will be a truggy, I'll keep hoping.

they say it was what we have been asking for?? I think not.. there is too many short course trucks now, there is already 2 slashes and now a third? what the hay hay is going on?

there better not be a 2nd slayer in the next coming year.

i was thinking they would come out with something people wanted like an electric sedan or new improved stampede\rustler\bandit or something different

we really dont need 3 traxxas short course trucks. i for 1 NEVER asked for a 4wd slash, and i remember VERY FEW requests for one. on the other hand, i lost track of requests for a 1/8th truggy around #7652

Look at other MT like the Savage, XL, Losi XXL, MGT 8.0, the Madbeast, etc... Traxxas should bring out that .26 BB 1/8 maxx to compete with the big boys and the Revo too. I'd buy a BB 1/8 MT in a heartbeat Hope it's before Christmas

I dont like the idea of the 4x4 slash. Noone asked for it that much, and to be honest, I think they made it just because they could be the "first." If they really wanted to please the consumers, 1/8th scale, BB t-maxx/Revo, and 4wd rustler were asked for way more than this "innovation."

i soo want one!!! i wanted a reg slash b4 but now! i want the 4wd!

imo, you could slap on some wide a-arms, and larger tires, different body, and have a truggy!

Yep, really WAY MORE people asked for a truggy or buggy than a 4x4 slash. I was really hoping for something NEW. As in Something totally different. Sure its 4wd and has a few different parts but come on, a third slash!

i dont see 3 slashes there alll VERY different

    1 has 2wd 1/10 and unrevo suspension.
1 is 4wd 1/16 and has revo suspension.
now the other has 4wd 1/10 and unrevo suspension there all different.
    4wd changes the car completely.

this is a whole new platform.

Dare I say this (as an original 2wd Slash owner)...4x4 won't take away any fun at all...it adds more fun, as now you can perform a realistic LONG controlled drift on slippery surfaces without the tail swerving around. It's also the reason why ALL RC drift cars are in fact 4x4.
Myth busted: Blitz is not faster on the track.
