Heresy maybe, but here is my beloved E-Maxx next to my new Tamiya Super Clod Buster. The Maxx donated its no-longer-used EVX-2 waterproof ESC and one waterproof servo for steering duty, and I bought a new 6-cell Traxxas 3300 NiMH pack. The E-Maxx is my favorite still, but the stock Clod is fun in its own right and I look forward to seeing them side by side for years to come.
I remember reading an article in RC Car Action comparing the Maxx to the Clod, and it's interesting to see how, despite looking much smaller, the Maxx maintains equal or better ground clearance over the Clod. The Maxx platform really was revolutionary upon release, so having an old-school runner next to (then) new-school tech is fun.
