    balancing lipo

i know there is at least a couple people on here with this charger/balancer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQIancXVHV8
I've had mine for a couple days now and charged my 3s lipo twice. is it automatically balancing for me to? when i watched the video it seemed like i need to do that separately with that little white connection??? if so, how often do i need to balance my battery and is it before or after i charge it?

If you don't plug the balance connector to anything, then it will not balance. You need to balance every time you charge.

    I always balance while charging.

That really depends on who you talk to.

I've actually had the factory for my lipos tell me once every 10 charges.

Folks at the local track tell me they balance once every 100 charges..

Its up to you really, but the instructions that came with your batteries should say for sure.

It definitely doesnt hurt to balance every time.

My balancer have a few options. i can either balance during the charge, or after.

My battery had no instructions. The charger/balancer instructions were difficult to read to say the least. So if I plug in the balancer while charging I should be good to go it sounds like. I do not have to select anything on the screen, it just does it?

I don't have that charger but might actually be ordering one now but as far as working it it should of came with a manual or be able to find one online for exactly how to balance. The video had some info on it but instructions written down always help. You could contact hobbypartz even. They have great customer service in my experience.

I have a stainless steel workbench, this shouldn't cause any charging issues, should it?

I would just lay a few shop rags under your charger and batteries just in case murphy's law wants to get to you.

Definately balance every charge. Like said it doesn't hurt anything. It will also pro long the life of your packs.

also when you balance every time you charge your always going to have the full power of the pack when it's not balanced every time one cell may be at a lower voltage and it will not have the same power as a balanced pack

there is a lipo charge mode, which only charges the pack, and a lipo balance mode, which both balances and charges the pack at the same time.
