Greetings,
The port side prop shaft of my Villain EX seems to have shifted rearward about 1/4". Now the prop shaft support hub is loose between the ujoint and prop. Problem, is I can't tell what's moved. First I tried to remove the prop to see if it had been pulled backward from hitting something underwater. I loosened the set screw, but for the life of me I can get the prop to let go.
I can take and post a picture of the situation if needed, but any advice up front?
Todd

Oh, I would pull both of the props and their shafts. Then Set them to the same length. Alot of Twisting action should get them off. Sometimes the shafts get a little wear and won't come off. But beleive me, they all seperate with some effort. Once everything is apart - rebuild each component to the same length. Sims - such as graphite washers or plastic shock parts work great to get the lengths set properly.
should look like this when done
a Grinder or file can be used to modify the flat spot on the shaft - only if needed
