Antennas are a certain length, tuned for particular radio frequency

    Dont cut it

Your reception will not be good and you have a greater chance of a run-away.

Well you better not want to drive very far from where you stand then.

Antennas are part of the Receiver. So by buying new receiver you should have a new antenna.
Does the 2.4ghz receiver has the same type of antenna on the truck ? I know the transmitter has a different one but the truck ?

When you go 2.4ghz the Antenna is generally shorter yes.But don't cut the stock one your playing with fire or should I say real cars,LoL!!All it takes is for it to run out of range and find its way into the street under a car tire,That would SUCK!!

Like the guys have said, dont cut the antenna.
If you dont like a long antenna sticking out of the body then just cut the tube shorter and loop the spare antenna inside the vehicle. I have my 27mhz antenna fully inside the body and the range is still as good as I need.

Simply upgrade to a 2.4GHz system you'll have a much shorter antenna on both the vehicle and the radio. My antenna tube sticks about 3" above the body and I get awesome distance.

If what your looking is a clean look, Do like me :

It wont affect your range and quality of the signal but still looks better than letting the antenna wire loose.

Or do what the above pics have except shorten the antenna tube but NOT the wire. Jar don't make the tube too short or it will be not as good as stock length's frequency etc..
