    Bad esc?

    What's up

I've got a mamba monster 2200 kv motor/etc set up ( non waterproof version) it's been sitting for a few years, maybe 4 or 5 years I think, anyways it's been a while. Well recently I've decided to get it all running again. Charged up some batteries, hooked up the esc, receiver and all the wires, plug in the batteries (in series), flip the switch and nada. No tones/sounds from esc, receiver doesn't even light up.
Batteries are brand new, receiver/controller is a traxxas 2.4ghz.

Could this be a bad esc?

It could be a bad on/off switch. This is a common occurrence on the MMM ESC. I had to bypass mine as well as it took a dump. Give it a try anyhow. If itís not that, then yes, you may have a bad ESC. Also make sure the battery wires at the ESC as well for a break right at the ESC itself. Where the wires come out of the ESC. But most likely itís the on/off switch. Hope you get it resolved. Good day.

Yep, sounds like a bad switch alright. I always change mine to a SPST mini toggle switch.

Update: it wasn't the switch. We figured out that the esc plug on the receiver wasn't in correctly, but we figured that out after we had cut the switch off, now time to put it back in haha

Leave it off. It will be a problem sooner or later.

Yep, either get a better switch or leave it off.
