I also ordered 3ea lipo's for my merv $87.90 from SPC

Soon as the stampede hits my door step i will be yanking tires off changing all bearings over to the efficient Ceramic Nitride bearings and taking the tranny apart to replace the bearings in there with the ceramic and also to just push efficiency over the top before the VXL's first run it will be disassembled to put a ceramic bearing in the motor because traxxas show's 2ea 5X11X4 bearing in the motor http://www.traxxas.com/PDF-Library/3607_tranny.pdf

There's no need for a $150 charger, save that money for more batteries. I've been using this for almost two years and love it.

Yea. The OP mentioned spending that much. The main reason I bought the hyperion is because I have NIMH, LiFe and Lipo batteries. It is just more convenient for me to have one charger for all 3

The charger I posted does all three as well as Lilo cells, whatever those are.

Probably LiIo or lithium Ion cells. They are used in cell phones, digicams, mp3 players and probably a few other things.

It looks as touugh several of us are on the top speed kick. My blizzard day build is also a top speed truck. I decided to name it Speed Pede. Mine isn't close to being finished waiting for a bunch of parts. So I decided to pull together what stuff I already had I search of a super fast truck. Good luck on the build and looking forward to the vids.

Same to you my friend good luck, i have to straighten out my order tomorrow/today since its 2:41am with SPC they are shipping my battery to my billing address and not to my shipping address the battery will be sitting in Florida while im here in Va and my house is empty hopefully i can get that fixed,they shipped my first order of lipo's correct but not my 2nd order which is only a few days apart, but the best of luck i have been getting terrible weather myself snow/rain/sleet the forecast said 1-3in of snow we got hit with 10in, the project might not go into full force until April i plan on being back in Florida around April, i am hoping to get some speed runs in by next weekend

My first thoughts are the rear suspension is real soft so i added a included thick i guess you would call it a preloader to the rear shocks and the truck is amazingly light and i am itching to run this thing

my bearings came in with spur and pinion gears, here is pics of the brand new bearings installed i took off the rubber seals for maximum efficiency now i seem to be having trouble with my slipper it slips horribly

i tightened my slipper as tight as it will go still slipping horrbily

Hmmm, thats not normal. I have no idea if this is a good idea, but it works on snowmobile clutches, take the slipper apart and lightly scuff up the slipper pads. Maybe they are glazed over and slipping too much... as strange as that sounds.
Or maybe they just need to get worked in.
Did you test it out with your new gearing? Im so interested to see how it runs. Also, can you show a pic of the new battery in the tray. Im wondering if it fits without modification.

Whatever you do don't hold your stampede to close to your arm and gun the throttle with a freshly charged 7cell nimh the torque will do this

Stock 7 cell nimh with 33/76 gearing 39mph i used my iphone with the free version of speedbox i would have got a photo but i ran my stampede through a puddle with my iphone strapped without a body i was more concerned for my phone than taking a photo

i just ran two 5000mah 7cell battery packs in parallel for a combined 10,000mah and the truck ran a strong 53mph and even pulled a wheelie with both packs and iPhone strapped mostly on the front

Well another order to tower hobbies down jaco foams, receiver fan,two new rims and tires for my merv since i mounted one backwards and fewother items over night shipping will be here tomorrow, and a order to horizon hobby for the battery expansion kit two day air should be here Thursday

How am I supposed to keep up with this. I havent even got my FIRST order yet. How come you decided to go with the foams? I noticed my Talons balooning even at 40mph. I think up around 60 or 70 they would blow or COULD blow, which would likely end in my truck in a ditch in pieces. That was my reason for going with foams.
Im gonna put in an order for a 35t pinion at some point I think. STILL havent ordered the 3s but soon enough. We just got a foot of snow so any runs are on hold for a few weeks at least.
Cant wait to see your truck all decked out.
