driveshaft rubs with REM rear a arms

Just wondering if anyone else had issues with the axle clearing the REM a arms. If anyone has had this problem, what did you do to correct it? It seems that with a few more runs, my shafts may be completely worn in half.

Don't feel bad, I have the FLM arms with their CVD drives and they rubbed as well at full droop. I did two things, and you probably won't like the last one. First, I moved my shocks out on the arm to limit droop, this also has the added benefit of pushing the CVD into the cup a little further at full droop, can't hurt. Two, I filed the arms carefully. I didn't care, they were already used anyway. But still, you'd think they would just work since they both came from the same place. Good luck man, sorry you're having issues with it as well.

Dang... I was afraid of these answers. Mine don't rub at full droop but at full extension. I may die out the piece on the arm that rubs. The only drawback is when, if I ever, break an a arm I cannot get it replaced

I mean extension, sorry, long week. I'm happy enough with the added width, that if I ever break an FLM arm, I'll buy new ones full price. Then hit them up about my issues with their CVD drives not clearing their own A arms.

Lol. Ill do that then. Idk about FLM design but its gotta be about the same. The bar it rubs on is already trimmed down from their factory but its not enough I reckon.

They're close, but not quite the same. The FLM arms are actually beveled along the edges, for clearance I would think. And the extended ones at least, have a little billet tie bar at the ends to reinforce them. Here's the best pic I could get of it.

Is it rubbing in two places? Or does the shaft look like it since it slides as it's rubbing? I'd give Gary a call, that can't be right. Surely if it were an issue, they'd mention it?

I even adjusted the carriers. They have 2 holes to slide the pins through and I went with the lower one to push the driveline away from it

The second lines up the shaft that show where it was rubbing was ruled out as ice. I thoroughly checked all the clearance at every point in susp travel and I don't see it rubbing there but on the bottom half you can see the anodizing even coming off where it rubs.

Yes. The wheels barely move when holding it off the ground so its hitting pretty bad. I can remove the shaft and take a pic of the arm itself if you want to get a closer look

There's prolly a 1/32 inch groove worn into the arm itself from the shaft.

Just talked to Gary at addicted2rc. He is addressing this issue and will have a solution tomorrow. No worries! This rubbing issue will be a thing of the past in no time!

    I don't doubt you Zues, but the reliefs for the shafts are cut exactly the same on both sides. If you're referring to the tie bar being on the bottom, you can't put it on top or it rubs the CVD. I had a hard time finding pics, or instructions, so I went by this;

If they really are wrong, tell me so, and I'll get crackin' on switching them around. They truly look the same on both sides of the arm to me though.

What did you think about the REMs rubbing? My shafts are about gone. It already ate the bulletproof one I had made. Btw, thanks for the design

Do you have your bearring carriers in like shown in the picture.
If so move carrier hinge pin to the lower hole to move the shaft up and away from the arm.
I've had rubbing issues on stock arms with shown set up.
If not oh well I tried

Yea I raised my carriers up as well. The cross bar that shows the rubbing; I think gary at addicted2rc is gonna recommend that be removed. It wouldn't hurt my feelings lol

Nope, I used the lower hole to move the CVD's up as high as possible away from the arm. Still had to file the arms just a bit. I do appreciate you looking out for me though.

Actually I think you can, you just move the left arm to the right side, and vice versa. They're cut the same on both sides as well.

I had actually planned on going out of town this weekend, and had mine all set for dirt. Plans have changed (work related) so I'll re-gear and switch wheels / tires tonight and hit the speed runs again tomorrow. Happy bashing brother, and thanks for the email.
