with 500 bucks you could get a lot of lipo batteries and a decent charger from here,
    http://www.hobbypartz.com/

and this place has some of the alum strc stuff for the truck,

there are many more options for the truck as well depending on what your plans are.

well at the link i provided above you can buy a decent charger for about 30-50 dollars, and then you can get 2 or so lipo's from the same place, or you can go here and get 1 battery that has a little better history.

I can get you into an rtr 4x4 PE with an AM radio for $450 with two venom 2s 4000 mah hardcase lipos. You'd just need a charger. Truck has an mmm esc aswell.

i am personally going to get this charger.

    http://www.hobbypartz.com/60p-dyc-1003.html

as you can see if you scroll down threw it will charge any type battery out there.

and i plan on getting this battery (or a few of them)

    http://www.spcracing.com/index.php?productID=59 (the red one)

its a high mah for long run times and it already has a traxxas connector on it.

with the rapid advances in battery technology, combined with safety concerns, I'd go with the best charger on the market - Hyperion. Upgradeable, store mode, and lots more useful features. Best price can be found here - http://www.allerc.com. EOS0720iNET3, or the EOS0615iDUO3 (dual charger). Then get yourself a decent power supply and whatever batteries you prefer.

no it has it's own ps, but you will need a balancer with it.

buy lipo youll regret going nimh and end up forking over the money later. the venom lipos are decently priced. you can get a slow charger for like $20 and that will suit you untill your ready to buy a nice charger which will be worth it.
