    MMP 5.5HV vs. MMM 2650

Which is the better setup for running 4s only. From what I can grasp the 5.5HV is a 3700kv motor which should on even 3s be slightly faster then the vxl. The 2650kv is almost 1000kv less which in turn would mean higher gearing for the same speeds due to more torque, but at a certain point it will run out of the rpms to make the same speed as a higher kv motor? From any experience out there I like to know your thoughts.

Unless you want to see what the max output power would be, real record speed runs, then I would go Novak. But there is no doubt the 2650 is the more powerful system. I would check your gear and tire combo to see what your gearing can be. For my setup, to run 4s, I really need the motor to be around a 2200, or I will be geared higher then I want.

I have ran both and the mmp with a novak hv is a great all around setup espicaly for racing (most track only alow 2s). But the mmm with 2650 is insane!!!! wheelies on demand. Just to much fun. The power is incredibale. With that said imo the mmp with hv is much more driveable and meets my needs.

I admit i am biased .. I'll probably never buy a non sensored motor again.. that being said, I'd side with the Novak.... if you were going to run 4s ONLY though, i might suggest the Castle motor. It would depend on what speeds you were looking for, and what climate you plan to run in.. Myself.. I run the Novak.
    Slash 2wd w/ Novak
    Rusty w/ Castle

I would like to have the faster of the two on 4s. I'm trying to get the fastest speed, in about 70f weather.

Go with the MMM 2650kv. Its way more efficient.

What if you are running slightly taller then stock wheels on 3S? Which would be better (no racing just bashing)?

Novak has a car running an HV motor @ their HQ that ran 118mph @ California Speedway. If speed runs are your goal, I would go that route.
