Well, i see that some people understand the fact that this is a HOBBY to me.. and though im in the middle of this hummer project, yes, it is very well SLOOOOOWW going.. but it is going none the less. I didn't spend over 1000 bucks on a prototype to just give up and throw it away..

I dunno what else to say.. The weather isn't nice where i live anymore, I don't have an area to work on the project indoors... I just got a promotion and taking on new job tasks.. family needs me.. and i dont have the luxury of not paying the mortgage, so, unfortunatly my whole RC world is on the back burner for now. I havent even had the time to clean my 4x4 from this summer's racing season, its still sitting on my bench, the same as it was 4 months ago

So, for all you impatient subscribers, all i can tell you is come spring, ill be racing to finish this project in order to have a new body for myself in the summer season.. but until then, other things take priority, and *IF* i can find the time between now and then to work on it more, i certainly will stop by and update with pics!

Thanks to all the followers of this thread, and Im looking forward to having more done soon, but realistically, check back after stupid winter!

Sounds like an Al Bundy scenario. If you do have time (family needs it) and if you do have money (family needs it). So your stuck left with what ever chanels you can get with the old digital rabbit ears on the old nuke you vision (tv the old big tube tv had thick glass because the radiation it creates).

Telnets,Keep working on it,you will get it done! Family,Work,LIFE comes first[you don't have to explain to anyone "WHY isn't it done yet!!"] Let them try something like this.

+3.. I just like, why doesn't any of the big RC company's come up with a cool body like this..? See I as a complement to what you are doing. WE JUST ALL WANT ONE.... But offcourse there are far more important things then this, family comes first..

Okay so i dissapeared for a while i know, but its been some tough times with family

I still have the model, the C&C milled template.. i have been working on this in VERY LIMITED AMOUNTS so dont expect anything tomorrow, BUT....

I found a guy locally that is helping me out with this project. I CANNOT find lexan localy in the size, or thickness i need unless I am buying 100 dollar rolls of the stuff.. SO.. the only way I can do this, is to have a proper manufacturer take over the thermal forming process at this point..

However, the forming process is REALLY hard on the buck (Mold).. and it will rip my MDF milled one apart after one pressing..

So.. i found a guy whos bringing in some sealer/epoxy stuff that will give my mold an extremely tough surface, and then hes bringing in some special smooth on molding products for me that are used in the thermal forming process.. after i cast a mold of my original, and then a casting of that, i will have a copy of my original made up in an acrylic thats good up to 450c and as strong as fiberglass.. this will hold up to my thermal forming process i need.

Unfortunately, you guys in the states (some of you) can go down the street and visit "a guy" who would happily do one off projects for you... thats not my case.. I live in an Oil driven city, and unless you need something done in a LARGE scale for oil manufacturing, there just isnt people to go to locally... I it took me 3 months just to find someone that knew anything about mold making... and another 5 months to find someone who even has a thermalforming machine that does anything smaller then forming 6 foot models out of 1/2 inch acrylic...

so.. even though this project is going on what 2 years? its still going..

it might not even be this winter until i get all the stuff in to make this, but, it is still going...

thanks to the followers, these will never be commercially available.. i think im going to strike 10 bodies total, 5 for my friends, 2 for myself, and the last 3 for a very few select people..

so feel free to keep slowly following the thread if you want, or unsubscribe if its too slow.. its up to you ;P when im finally done, ill be posting lots of pics in the picture gallery

There was an article in 1 of the rc mags I bought this month. If I remember, I will try to give you the info before its off the shelves. It looked pretty simple...
