That is a neat site and is great if you are going strictly by the numbers. Unfortunaly it doesn't that into consideration real world conditions. For instance. Select the 2WD Slash then select the MM5700. From experience people that have tried to run a 5700 in a slash will tell you the 1) it's not the best motor for the truck and 2) you need to gear the mess out of it to keep it cool. Something along the line of 13/90. The site is recommending you start at 19/83 which will overheat a 5700 very quickly.

I don't recommend you use that gearing calculator. There are too many variables that go into gearing a truck and the recommendations given for for the Slash are way off.

A good gear ratio to start with for a 5000KV motor is around 14/90 and work your way up or down depending on motor temps. Keep the motor around 160F and it should have a long life.
