Cool noob tire question

I am looking into buying new tires for my slash because i want better traction. I am confused about what to get thought. My question is what do the measurements refer to (what does it mean when i see 2.2). My goal is to get 3 sets of tires and wheels.

Set 1 = the widest and biggest tires that will fit on the slash (for bashing and looks). I will obviously have to cut out the wheel wells. Someone told me stampede tires are great for this.
Set 2 = Best traction & stability possible.
Set 3 = Best tires for stock class racing.

Thank you for your suggestions.

I can answer your first question and 2.2 means the diameter of the wheels, not the tires.

Okay. Here is my suggestions:

Set 1: Proline Badland 30 Series. Found Here

Set 2: Proline Dirt Works. Found Here

Set 3: Pro Line Calibers. Found Here

Pro Line pretty much makes the best tires

Depending on your tracks definition of "stock", any aftermarket tire would be deemed illegal...most tracks will let you choose between any of the tires found on the rtr kits, talk to your track first...

For your "widest and biggest tires" request, I would steer you towards Pro-Line Masher 2Ks. You will definately have totrim the body, but they look tough and handle any terrain. They look so much better than the Traxxas Talons.

So would i be able to put 3.2's or 3.8's on the car? I'm mostly concerned with width. I want the widest possible tires and rims.

3.8 wheels? Forget about it. My 2.8 talons wouldn't fit with the body on.

Would it help if i cut out the wheel wells big time? Because if the body is the only problem then i can easily modify it. I am planning on just getting a roll cage anyways for bashing. I doubt i will mess with a body since it will probably be landing upside down quite often.

Well I've never actually tried 3.8 wheels so the body might not be the only issue, and yes it would help not to cut up the body.
