New guy, finally got hooked up!

So, I got my ERBE about 2 weeks ago YAAAAAAAY!!! ... About a week ago I crashed, full trigger pull, into my buddies parked car. Went up underneath the rear tire, jamming the revo under the tire in a phenomenally EPIC FAIL crash. I couldn't even pull it out from underneath the tire, he had to pull his car forward to get it out! Carnage included BOTH front rockers and 1 bent post. So I decided to take the opportunity to purchase and install some of the upgrades I have been watching on here and some I haven't seen on here yet, and here are the results, enjoy! ....

RPM True-track rear arms, RPM front arms...

RDLogics 90T front rockers with upgraded rocker posts and new DURATRAX bearings, TRX alum push rods, and TRX alum toe links.

Integy 90T progressive rear rockers, TRX alum push rods

    http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...gradedERBE.jpg

This thing is so much fun, it's almost beyond words. I have a lifted Jeep grand cherokee, and a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja and I have more fun with the ERBE than both of those! I look forward to doing more upgrades and having a race ready basher, cuz I don't race, but I would like to be able to whenever the time should arise!

Now I have a clear body I need to figure out what I want to do with it, I just need some inspiration and I'm gonna start painting it up, I might do a "General Lee" theme on the stock revo body, whadya think?

Take a look through they galleries for some inspiration. There is a lot to look at. I will take that Ninja off your hands since you don't have fun with it anymore!

    Update!!!

Sorry for the picture size on the beginning of this post, I've resized the new ones so hopefully they don't get edited into links again, I've seen bigger pictures on here and I thought if they were photobucket pics they were good to go. Nope...

Anyway, I was motivated by Maxx Voltage and decided to go ahead and do a General Lee on a clear stock revo body.

Keep in mind, I had no experience, and little to no supplies. I had no window masks and no decals, so I went to the internet and found some graphics. I printed them out and cut them out with a razor knife. Here's the "decals" I got...

I had to change the layout a little because the design of the revo body and I chose a different version of the flag for the roof.

    "Mock ups"

Now, here's where I ran into the first problem. Because of the strange body lines on the revo roof, I had to customize the "decal" to fit.

...but hopefully the clickable thumbnails are more to your liking.

So here's what it looks like before the glue dries

    And after

With the modified position of "Gen. Lee" and sponsor badges applied

    With headlights and grill

    And before paint

I'm getting ready to finish the last coat of "pumpkin orange" so I'll have those up soon. I loved doing this project and I may have to do some more like this in the future! Let me know what y'all think!

Just regular paper printed out from my computer, that's why I keep calling them "decals" because they really aren't. Thanks!

    Oops!

You should have had some window masks that you put on before the painting, then peal them off afterwards to leave nice clean & clear windows. Failing that, you could mask the windows off by hand with masking tap & liquid mask, then peal that off after painting.

Not sure if traxxas still does the window masks or whether they just use the stick-on tinted windows that go on the outside of the shell.

Eitherway, it would look great if it wasnt for that slight boo-boo....

I like the orange you went with, looks good. Your pretty daring putting an HPI sticker on a Revo, I think you should throw a Calvin sticker right above it....

You can hardly see anything. There are a few wrinkles where I made a mistake, but other than that, nothing at all, the pictures should speak for themselves
