For the best result, use a good quality flux and solder (ex: Kester Sn63Pb37)

You make a good solder when it penetrating inside the wire...

Like this: (I link a 8AWG to 10 AWG to solder on my 3 mm bullet connector)

Luckily, I got rid of the batteries online, so now I want to make sure I don't mess it up again ordering new ones.

I've found a pair of 2s 30C 5200mah's at a good price, will the amperage hold up for the MMM system?

BTW, thanks for all soldering tips, but I think I'll just solder on some deans on both wire sets. That gives me a week link, but I'll try that out first..

30c 5200mah is fine, so long as they arent some no-name ebay specials like winforce or some junk like that.

They are hard case *******'s from the you-know-where

    I also found some ******* 4S 30C 3300mah. Would two of them in parallel double the C-rating (30x2x3,3= ~200A)?

Two 30C 3300s in parallel would be 198 amps yes.
However to say "double the C-rating" is incorrect.

Two 3300s in parallel is 6600mAh, so 198 amps would still be 30C (C-ratings don't change regardless of battery configuration).

Ok - I see. Of course the Mah doubles in parallel, and that's what doubles the total amperage.

I love forums - thanx for all enlightening replies, guys

Ended up with some 4s 30C 3300 mah's from HyperPower from my LHS - got 10% off on them.

They also soldered my deans connectors for me (I know, i whimped out..) so now I just need to get out the Castle Link and program the ESC.

Can't wait to take my "new" car out for a spin

I didn't need to mod anything, just took out those "braces" that hold down the battery from the top. Haven't adjusted the battery holders in the back end of the compartment yet, but I figured I could use some foam as the battery is fairly short.

I tried with some larger 4s' (4000 mah) too big, but this one squeeeeezes in there

Hmm, my iPhone won't let me edit last post, sorry for flooding this thread..

Just wanted to mention that the 4s battery fits perfectly although I think they are 31mm high. The battery holder also keeps it well in place at the tightest setting
