The body mount velcro probably doesn't hold very strong,...it's the velcro on the battery doors that hold the strongest,....the body mount velcro seem to hold, but they are more just to keep the mounts fro scratching the inside of the body....

Oh....20-25mph cartwheels today....the body hasn't come off yet.

Didn't come out too bad, not as good as i wanted....but good enough for a bashing body, and that's what I got this body for.

I didn't want to drill holes, because the bodies normally start ripping/tearing at the mount holes.....so I can't up with an idea...

I shaved the pins off of the mounts, and glued velcro, and I also put velcro on the sides.....and I'm happy to report.....45-50mph runs, with a few tumbles, and the body stayed on...

Whoooo hooo!!!...no more using pins to hold the body on...

I figured I'd go with a popular theme for my bashing body...

    I love that body

It was my first attempt, so I didn't want to put a bunch of stuff on it......my next one will have more graphics and things.

It was pretty easy to make my own graphics,....I just used some junk comic books my son was throwing away..

For anyone that wants to try it....this is how I learned to do it.

    OK...fully tested 2 things today.

    1. The tires I got are the best I've ever had.....only extremely minimal ballooning...and they only start that at 3/4+ throttle on 5800mah 6s Lipo's.

I probably will never run a different tire....EVER!.....they are PERFECT!

Which lead me into my next test,...because the tire is incredibly stable at high speeds, and I can almost say ZERO ballooning,.....I actually got a bunch of REAL full speed runs in...not 3/4 throttle and a few blips into the full speed range.....but real ....throttle pinned all the way down for as long as I wanted kind of runs....

    And with that....

    2.
Using my Velcro modification works!!!! The body WILL NOT come off, even if the air gets under the body......or....in the event of multiple horrendous crashes.....LOL

For me I just use velcro on the battery doors, its good enough

As for the tires, they are still brand new, they will start to soften up over some use, especially with 6s Ive had a few sets of badlands, and they were nice and stiff like yours when they were new. I can turn them into pizza cutters now heheheh. Its just the nature of the beast..

Youve got a nice lookin truck now, sounds like youve been a lil o.c.d. with it, I know the feeling

Well...I finally got the EC5 connectors on my 2s 40-50c Lipo batteries....and I'm going to have to say.....

.....I like running 4s way better than 6s...it still wheelies on demand...and top speed is perfect with the same 18/54 gearing I was using for the 6s.

    I'll be using the (4) 3s Lipo's as backups when the (4) 2s batteries I have die.

I bought shrink wrap...I'll probably break the (4) 3s's into (6) 2s's.....having way more fun with 4s than I ever did with 6s.

Anyone have 2s JST extensions?...I need some to make the 2s's.

Have you tried 5s yet? I've only run 4s in my ERBE and I have a blast with it, but lately I've been thinking about getting a 3s pack so I can give 5s a shot.

I don't have much interest in 6s... I ran 4s in my merv and broke parts all the time. I'm thinking 6s in the ERBE would probably be similar.

    I haven't tried 5s.....I would but my 2s are 5000mah, and my 3s are 5800mah....so it won't work....and I don't feel like buying any more batteries.

What tires did you get, I dont think you said ?

I just got my ERBE this week the few short runs on the standard batteries have been fun so far.
Looking forward to longer run times with 2s Lipo packs. Don't want to go 6s.
I have a Rustler and putting a 3s 11 volt lipo in that was just breakage after breakage. Its fun doing pitstop repair but it gets old quick if thats all you are doing in stead of racing

Right now I am set up for towing and cannot go beyond Stage 2 on the chip, But I tow a 14,000lb boat around in the summer and would like to get the Banks turbo brake. PM me sorry off topic.

Nice video proving the strength of velcro. Really like the lights, and I'm also warming to the velcro solution. Truck just looks far more realistic (shell wise).

Last night I figured it would be fun to do some jumping and bashing...

    Sorry no video...only aftermath pics.

63' was my furthest jump....did it about 10 times...but it took it's toll on the last jump.....I guessimate around 60+mph will running 6s Lipo.

Popped the vent on one side, and sheared a stiffening turnbuckle on the other.

Everything is broken here, turnbuckles stripped, bulkheads, wing mounts bolts stripped....lots of destroyed stuff LOL

One of the jumps ended in a 60+ backflip, landing on it's lid, destroyed my basher body.

I have all the parts to fix it in the garage...gonna have to rebuild it , and try and make it stronger.
