    diff fluid question

Ok so i decided to go with the steve slalyden setup. I bought some 5k diff fluid for the rear and 10 k for the front and some 60 wt shock oil. My question is how is the fluid supposed to stay in when the diffs arent even sealed. do i need to use some cyclone around the edges or what. and how do i put it in the diffs. Just remove the bottom bulkhead and then the diff is open?

Your gonna need to pull out your exploded views that came with your truck for this. And what's the shock oil for? I hope that it's for shocks and not diffs.

The diffs themselves are sealed. You are thinking of the diff case/housing, that part isnt sealed. When you tear it apart, and get to the part in the pic below, that opens up with 4 hex screws and is filled with gooey goodness and all the diff fluid and gears inside
Just refill that with the weight of your choice.

I also put some wheel bearing grease on the ring and pinion gear (big, unsealed, external gear)before reassembly.

The diff is where the spider gears are, not the ring and pinions.

Yes clean it out as much as you can. If you are going with the Slayden setup, just put in what he recommends.
