You might be right! The wheelbase of the rally is 206 and the wheelbase of the body you have shown is 210.... that should fit fairly easily.

    Check this out!!!

This body is 208mm only 2mm longer!! Rally body too. Should fit!!!

You have the Tamiya? I was thinking about getting one (the Datsun)! You like it? Sorry to get off the Traxxas topic...but would LOVE to see Traxxas come out with this in 1/10th scale!

I too am planning to convert my Mini Slash to the Rally VXL. My modified mini Slash was developed for carpet racing and the high motor position was a problem at first. When I created the low CG chassis and mounted the battery, ESC, Receiver and servo to the lower plate this chassis was alive and jumped very well. I was considering a 10th scale 4wd buggy center diff to lower the motor but then battery size would be real challenging. My design could almost fit a standard 10th scale Lipo on the drivers side. With the Rally body it will fit fine.

This is truely a short 10th scale vehicle or maybe 12th scale. The 185mm width is very close to the 190/200mm touring cars. The 206mm wheelbase is much shorter than the 256mm+ touring cars but so what. It's a Rally car with real capability. Seriously, you will have all the hop-ups for this chassis based on the mini Slash and mini E-Revo!! I had shelved my Mini Slash to focus on racing off-road 10th scale but now I want to trick out a Rally VXL and see if my local carpet track wants to start a racing class! Imagine a 40x60ft Special stage Rally track were two drivers go head to head like WRC!

    Hop-ups desired:
    1) RPM hub carriers
    2) Traxxas CVDs and center CVA
    3) Center Diff
    4) Traxxas GTR shocks
    5) Tamiya and HPI tires depending on track surface
    6) Clear body to paint up my design

Are the new BFG tires good on carpet?

Yes!!! That's what I'm talking about. My local Hobby shop has a bunch of Slashes that they use for birthday parties on their carpet track. It would be so cool to have a ROC like the video shows bringing top drivers to the shop and run a Super Special track. The Rally VXL stock with the stock battery would be good enough. My Mini Slash VXL was almost un-manageble but the stiffer springs should make a huge difference.

I already set the shock oil to 50wt and lowered the suspension like the Rally which is required. I also went to the stiffer Slash springs. Would be fun for sure.
