    Exclamation Lipo Chargers

I recently bought a 1/16 slash ( i know wrong forum but this has more traffic and this applies) and i run 2 3s batteries at once. Each one takes an hour to charge. Any recommendations to chargers that charge more than one lipo at once?

    thanks!

Calculate the amperage and wattage needed and buy a charger that can deliver that!

    Say you have 2S 1600 mAh packs = 8.4 volts @ 1.6 amps = 13.44 watts
    two in parallel = 8.4 @ 3.2 amps = 26.88 watts
    four in parallel = 8.4 @ 6.4 amps = 53.76 watts
    six in parallel = 8.4 @ 9.6 amps = 80.64 watts

    6 each 3S 1600s in parallel = 12.6 @ 9.6 amps = 120.96 watts

    Series is best left to two packs in Series ... for 2S + 2S = 16.8 volts @ 1.6 amps = 26.88 watts

    Accucel-8 will do 7 amps @ 150 watts
iChargers will do .... pretty much depending on unit (30 amps and 500+ watts)
FMA Power Lab 8 will do 30 amps and 1000 watts

Of course you will need a big power supply.

iCharger 206B with PS350 power supply is one of my favorite combos. 20 amps and 350 watts.

I can do 2 in parallel with my basic 50 watt charger
If you want to charge more than 2 batteries at one time Use the info in Hughes500Bob post if you have a charger with more watts or are buying one

    ^^

Yeah but your packs still ring in under 5000mah.

Try that with 2 5k packs and see how long you wait

Mine will do 2 at once, 180w per port, but you need an external psu.

This is a great post. I would love to charge two 3s lipos at once. But I thought I read somewhere to never do that. I would love to be able to charge them as one battery. they are 1500 3s Max amps. How do I charge them together at once. And is that risky?

Its not risky at all, you just have to charge them in series rather than in parallel. Talk to Huges500bob and he can sort you out with a suitable charging adaptor- you can make your own ( CLICKY ) but its best to buy one from a trusted source if you arent all that confident.

In reality, by using the proper adapter, all you are doing is tricking your charger into thinking it is charging a single 6s pack. you need to make sure you have a 6s capable charger and you would be good to go.

With the proper harnesses .... NO It is not risky at all!

    You can charge your 2 3S 1500 packs with a Series rig (both power and balancing) at 6S @ 1.5 amps for a 1C charge rate = 25.2v @ 1.5 amps = 37.8 watts.

    You can charge your 2 3S 1500 packs with a Parallel rig (both power and balancing) at 3S @ 3 amps for a 1C charge rate = 12.6v @ 3 amps = 37.8 watts.

    Either way is perfectly safe.
