I wonder if the Ford licensing would approve that, or if they would need Coswprth approval first.

I want a Subaru body, please.

What a car! Would the Rally wheelbase be right for the RS200?? I would like to see an old Mini Cooper shell, and seeing as though Mini are in the WRC with the Countryman, a new Mini shell would also be cool.

How about a Group B Peugeot shell?? (what was the model, 205 Turbo?)

    all short wheelbase rally cars

subaru's and lots of 4wd rally cars today have too long a wheel base to look sensible on this. besides, they've all been done to death. it's about time somebody started making some vintage cars, that everybody remembers. like the audi quattro . unless traxxas start making extended front and rear a arms to give a longer wheelbase.
... oh, and sorry about your wallet

As I have said b4 ..All they have to do, is make a 2" extended chassis

    Audi S1...brutality on 4 wheels.

An RS200 would be very cool! If I get a customer's Rally in the shop when I've got my BL M03 Mini Cooper with me, I'll try and get the two lined up.

One body I'd love to seen ANYBODY make in this size is a Dodge Omni GLH/Shelby GLHS 4dr. I even asked the guys from Parma if they were going to re-release their Dodge Neon Coupe at I-Hobby now that there are so many cars now in this size class.

That would be cool. I think the M chassis is narrower than the Rally so the shells aren't compatible, but good to see them together.

The new Subaru WRC is short wheel base I think.

I really hope Proline will come up with something, and that Traxxas make an extended chassis.

i remember a while ago i shoehorned a mini countryman shell to my merv. right length, wrong wheelbase. their site had quite a few m class shells that are awfully close in size to the rally vxl now.

the problem is, the body shells are terribly weak and easy to crack, and the stickers - while cool looking, are terribly difficult to stick on right and will come off with the least wind/perspiration

I used to have a kyosho rs200 back in the day. I think the wb to track may be 2 long. That cars scale was awesome.

M chassis is only 165mm wide

I second you hopes for a longer chassis and new body options

If the wheels were only smaller it wouldn't look so awkward and they could make some decent aftermarket bodies

I can see 4tec's point. If you compare the Gravel wheels and tyres and then the Tarmac set up in the WRC they are completely different. The Gravel tyres are slightly smaller, have a high profile sidewall, and the wheels are a lot smaller. Tarmac, the wheels are a lot bigger in diametre and therefore the tyres are low profile, very much like the stock ones that come on the Rally. For me, the Tamiya Rally Blocks just don't look quite right. They are mounted on exactly the same size wheel as a tarmac tyre, which makes them look odd.

I'm trying to work out exactly which car the stock Rally shell was based on

Why does somebody always have to beg about a Subaru?

Subaru already has a marketing agreement in place with Tamiya.

Because it would look great. I'd be happy with an EVO body too, but I happen to drive a Subaru.

I would love an Audi Quattro!!!! I have the body from an old Radio Shack Quattro but the slash wheelbase is abuot 1/2 inch short to work right. Width is ok, maybe a little wide but that could be dealt with.

I think it's just a generic modern-ish "hot hatch", wonder how 1/1 cars in that class would sell here in the States if they looked more like the shell for these cars

Yeh. The closest car I can find is the Volkswagen Sirocco GT, without the wing. I think it's very close.

I think I've solved this dilemna - if you check out the rims for the HPI Mini-Cup Racer they're slightly smaller in diameter than a standard Touring Car rim, and while the stock tires for these are slicks (two different compounds) the upside is that any tire that was ever made to fit the kyosho mini-inferno series (buggy) are a direct fit. So there are literally tons of pin-type options out there (and others) that will surely work anywhere the traction is less than optimal.
Same 12mm hex mounting, little bit more sidewall than stock Rally treads, but overall outside tire diameter remains the same.

Yeh, nice looking tyres. I can't remember which brand (may be Shumi) do a 20mm wide wheel and tyre set in the same tread pattern. Ideal for a realistic snow tyre!!

Schumacher makes a low profile narrow (20mm) and wide (24/25mm) set of tires like the mini-pins pictured above, that fit standard TC rims, in a few different compounds.

You guys overseas are more familiar with Schumacher, and especially the tires they offer, Snoop. I posted the links for the guys here in the U.S. who most likely don't know.

LOL just messing with you Robbie

My 20mm SST wheels are around 12-14 years old (has it bin that long !!)
The last time I used them on my Tamiya FF was in '98... I think
I still have some of the 1/10 Schumacher buggy tyres I used on my RC10 and RC10B2

Want to make one like this. It is not worse than making a frontspoiler and maybe using a 1/10 rear wing. But the painting is going to be a bit of a challenge.
Lars they are still there and they were not too big
