    Esc Motor Transmitter Issue

So I ran my rusty again and this time I had an issue after the run. The motor doesnt work but the steering does. Is this an esc issue or a motor issue? This is getting on my nerves with this car. Its swallowing up more money then time that I use it.

mine did that to. I sent it to traxxas and they sent me ack a new esc. so i would just send back your esc and just to be sure that it isn't the motor and the esc.

Me to. The esc recognizes that im pulling the throttle. You know how when the light turns green it means its at top speed? Or throttle is pulled all the way? Well itll blink and then solidify like its at top speed and the moto just sits there

tap on the motor can with a hammer, lightly. and you may get another run or so out of it.

Just hook the motor directly to the battery. If it spins then I would calibrate the esc.

Lol how do you connect it straight to the battery if the motor has bullets and the batt has trx plugs? Ive heard about 9v batts doing that but I smacked it and it ran for a few sec then died again.

plug the red wire from the motor to the + side of the connector and the black wire to the - side of the connector. i use to have a xl-5 rusty and this same thing happened to me everytime i was looseing a motor.

If smacking it made it run then the brushes are probably have a lot of carbon built up and are dirty which likely means you have not been doing proper motor maintenance and caused a premature demise of the motor. You may be able to eek a few more runs out of it by cleaning and lubricating it and maybe giving it another smack or two but you will likely soon need to replace the motor.
