    P2K2 Gearing

How should I start gearing a 27t stock motor in my protrac slash? I just need a good starting point.

LazyBoy, I have tried a few 27t motors in my sons Rusty geared 18/86 and 18/90 and it still gets hot. I'm going to get him a Titan again for the time being.

    Wouldn't 27t be uhhh, slow?
    Can you break a Rusty?
    Umm...No...No, you can't.

They are surprisingly fast for a brushed motor.

27T ROAR stock class motors will run hot, pretty much with whatever gearing you use. They produce a lot of power for a 27T motor due to the 24 degree advance in commutator timing. The tradeoff for that power is heat. They were pretty much meant to run for a 5 minute race, then left to cool down for the next race. The P2K2 was one of my favorites when I raced 4WD TC's about 10 years ago, Reedy also made a great 27T motor.
Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?

I came up on a stash of brushed motors, I got about 10 motors for about $8. Would that be why some of the used 27t motors had crispy wires on the armature?
So 18/86 would be a good starting class?
