Motor mount and spur gear question

I broke my motor mount today and the spur gears teeth are awfuly flat. You have to press the clutch bell gear tight against it so it will turn. Anyway, is there any reason not to buy a billet alum motor mount and a steel spur gear.

Stay away from the steel spur. With a proper mesh it will last a long time. But if you want to go steel, expect to replace transmission gears instead.

im not sure about the stronger motor mount might end up breaking the motor case instead of a mount. as far as the steel spur im with G on this one as well.

I run the traxxas billet mount, and i also have the steel spur on my truck. Never had an issue with the spur or transmission, i did always manage to destroy clutch bells if the mesh wasnt right....
