I just tackled the brake system. I replaced the whole brake system and mounted the brake lines. I also got the pedals installed but I need to make a bracket for the master cylinder.

My front left drum adjuster is seized. So I let it sit in PB over night. Hopefully it will free up enough for me to adjust it.

Excuse me if I read past this somehow, but where are the back seats going to go? Seems awfully tight back there.

Thanks. It has come a little way.

Streetdemon, the back seat goes in front of the bar, that is in front of the gas tank. It is kinda tight, but about as much room as a large sports car, like a Camaro.

I bought these wheels today online. Aswell as a back seat.

(this is just a pic I found on the internet.)

Here are pics of my exhaust. I'm debating on leaving it open header. or putting a baffle in it to quiet it down.

Bought a rear seat out of a Suzuki Samurai. I'm taking it to the upholstery shop tomorrow. Going to have it redone in black leather with orange stitching.

My front and rear shocks came in today, aswell as the wiring harness, E-brake cables, and speedometer cable. I installed the shocks. Tomorrow I'm going to wire the lights, and install all the cables.

    Thanks

Well Ive probably have spent at least 6 hours wiring this thing. I got the turn signals, head lights and brake lights connected. As well as the ignition. Tomorrow I'm taking it to the shop to drop in the 1835cc engine. It should be drivable by Tuesday.

    Left to do list
-take buggy to shop tomorrow for engine
-Still waiting on Wheels to Arrive
    - Rear Seat is still at the upholstery shop
    - Have to get it registered and insured

    As it sits now

I went to the shop today to deliver some parts(cables, battery wires, fuel lines). To my surprise the engine was already installed.

Its still not completely hooked up yet. But its getting there. It should be done on Monday.

That last pic makes it look like it will be really hard to squeeze some 31's under there without rubbing those frame rails.

The new wheels have less backspacing, therefore the tire will come out beside the frame rail, instead of under it.

    Update

I got the buggy back from the shop.

    Work they did

    Installed Engine
    Replaced all wheel bearings
    Bled brakes
Welded in a plate for the brake pedal/ master cylinder
    Welded shift rod
    Welded steering rod

I got the Suzuki Samuari seat back from the upholstrey shop. It looks pretty good.

All I need now for the buggy to drive is a 3ft fuel line. Ill run and get
that later on this afternoon and post a vid of the engine running.

    Pics

All I have left to do
Mount the tires on new wheels
    Mount the rear seat
    Install Windshield
    Install my new center console
Paint over all the nicks and scratches

    Thanks ERevo

Well ive made some progress, im nearly done now

I mounted the rear seat by an angle iron frame together, and bolted the seat up to it.

My center console came in, I need to drill out guage holes

Finally got front and rear wheels on. I'm running 31x10.50 in the rear. Price drove my away from the 15" wide tires. Up front i'm running 24x7.

The buggy drives and runs great! Ill try to get a walk around/drive video up soon.

Thats awesome. Can't wait to see some video!

This might be a stupid question...
I know you said you put some blinkers on it. Is this going to be street legal?

Not a dumb question. My buggy is street legal, however most dune buggies are not street legal. Ive put about 80 miles on it so far on the road.

Here are some more pics, with mirrors and center console installed.

Ill try to get a video on here by tonight.

You don't need a windshield of some sort for that for the street? That wouldn't fly around here. What's it registered as?

Thats what I was thinking Streetdemon.
Even if he didn't have to have one I would still want one
to keep the bugs of those nice seats, not to mention my face LOL.

StreetDemon, i think your right about that with the buggy like this, but with the Sand Cars you just need blinkers, mirros which they allready have, and a license plate.

Ohh and if you don't know this is what a sand Rail is, we had one for a while that had 900HP with an LS1 covette motor, but we have had many others too
This is what ours looked like http://www.atyourcurb.com/images/SandRailPic1.JPG

Your ride is looking better all the time! I just have one question; are seatbelts or 5-point harnesses not required by your DOT?
