^ +1 exactly what I just did. And FYI you might need to upgrade to stiffer springs and shock oil but hook it all up first and see how the bb goes first.

Where are you located? In the US? I ordered a pair of receiver covers direct from Traxxas and only paid 5$ for shipping. Arrived at my door within 3 days.

I have the Castle 5700 4 pole motor on mine. Works pritty good. Lots of power.
If it is unbreakable, I'll break it.

Did you buy a motor separate? Or is it one you had? I ask, because, I got the new Sidewinder kit with a 1406 4 pole motor with 5700kv from the LHS for $100. Way cheaper than buying separate components

When you live in europe, give it up if you dont like to pay 28,95$ for t he rx box.

I tried and tried and no one like to be shipping to europe. I live in NL and its practically impossible to get that rx box unless you buy a brushed 1/16. Called the benelux distri and they even didnt know it existed.

If you find one below the 7$ shipping i would be more than happy to get one from the spot you found them.

I think I'm going to get the castle 5700 motor. Do you need different pinions or does the traaxas ones work?

Yea I had the motor in my sprint2 and upgraded the sprint to 7700kv castle that I bought from a friend with no esc.

So I decided to put the 5700 in the merv but need an esc... How is the Sidewinder holding up for you bro ?

What is the best gearing for the 5700??? Does anybody know ?

There is no such thing as a mamaba max pro motor, but a 1410 series motor will fit on the motor plate for the brushed Merv. I would not use such a torque-ish amp eater in a Merv, but that is personal.

    Edit: replaced brushless by brushed.

the brushless merv has a 380 sized motor and that wont work with the 1410, you will need the motor mount from the brushed edition --- parts noted above
