    So Im a XO-1 Owner

Got a great deal on a car but I'm worried it may be a early gen.
My remote has to be plugged to run app to enable function for full speed access.
In installing update phone through a code of remote lost connection.
Now it will not attempt install again and the indicator light on controller has turned to a flashing yellow/brown .
And I no longer can establish connection between controller and car.

    What do I do?
    Thanks ahead of time.
New to the forum thanks for having me.

The ESCs are different - first gen is better but not waterproof. Swap in a receiver with TSM, it will make your life much easier and keep all of the driving abilities of the car in stock form.

Welcome, and you will have a lot of fun with your XO-1, because Traxxas did a terrific job with designing it. It has a lot of real estate for mods which allows you to fine tune your car to exactly the way you want it. Being able to mod an RC is very important if you want to be able to grow with your RC as your abilities grows. This kind of growth is what keeps your RC's experience fresh. The ability to mod an RC is one of the big things I look for in an RC, and the XO is a very fun RC to mod, run, and take care of.
